    Abstract:

    Complexities of using an SU(4) and SU(3) basis in the 1p0f shell are discussed. SU(3) representations are detailed for 2–5 particles. Earlier calculations by McGrory are discussed with the view of using the SU(3) model to describe multi-particle multi-hole states.
