Scalar–tensor theory of gravity with nonlinear electromagnetic field, minimally coupled to gravity is considered and static black hole solutions are obtained. Namely, power-law and Born–Infeld nonlinear Lagrangians for the electromagnetic field are examined. Since the cosmological constant is taken into account, it allowed us to investigate the so-called topological black holes. Black hole thermodynamics is studied, in particular temperature of the black holes is calculated and examined and the first law of thermodynamics is obtained with help of Wald’s approach.
In this paper, we will consider a subclass of models of Horndeski theories of gravity and we will check for several Static Spherically Symmetric solutions. We will find a model which admits an exact black hole (BH) solution and we will study its thermodynamics by using the Euclidean Action. We will see that, in analogy with the case of General Relativity (GR), the integration constant of the solution can be identified with the mass of the BH itself. Other solutions will be discussed, by posing special attention on the possibility of reproducing the observed profiles of the rotation curves of galaxies.a
We present a recent result on the parameterized post-Newtonian (PPN) limit of Horndeski's gravity theory and its consistency with solar system observations.
