In this work, radiation resistance and radiation defects formation of chain semiconductor antiferromagnetic T1FeS₂ monocrystal have been investigated. The sample was irradiated by heavy ions at different doses up to 2.0×10${}^{13}$ ion⋅cm${}^{-2}$. The influence of radiation with heavy xenon ions on the structure of the irradiated layer has been studied and it has shown that, as the radiation dose increases, the number of peaks of the periodicity of the atomic clusters of the nanosize surface decreases exponentially.

This paper dealt with plasma-sprayed hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings on carbon/carbon composites (C/C) and the implantation was carried out in rabbits. Ninety days after the implantation, we found that such materials were favorable for health and no cytotoxic effects were discovered. The histological observation of osteogenic response of HA-coated C/C showed that the osteoplaque had scansorially grown along the surface of the HA coatings and the pure C/C surface had no obvious change. All these results indicate that as a potential bone-repairing material, the surface properties of the C/C has been changed by preparing the HA coatings. Also the new materials may be preferably feasible of clinical application.

A model of interstitial impurity migration is proposed which explains the redistribution of ion-implanted boron in low-temperature annealing of nonamorphized silicon layers. It is supposed that nonequilibrium boron interstitials are generated either in the course of ion implantation or at the initial stage of thermal treatment and that they migrate inward and to the surface of a semiconductor in the basic stage of annealing. It is shown that the form of the “tail” in the boron profile with the logarithmic concentration axis changes from a straight line if the average lifetime of impurity interstitials is substantially shorter than the annealing duration to that bending upwards for increasing lifetime.

The calculated impurity concentration profiles are in excellent agreement with the experimental data describing the redistribution of implanted boron for low-temperature annealing at 750${}^{\circ }$C for 1h and at 800${}^{\circ }$C for 35min. Simultaneously, the experimental phenomenon of incomplete electrical activation of boron atoms in the “tail” region is naturally explained.

Decidual leukocytes make up approximately 30% of all decidual stromal cells in early pregnancy, of which 70% are uterine natural killer (uNK) cells. uNK cells are phenotypically distinct from peripheral blood NK cells, being CD56${}^{\text{bright}}$CD16${}^{-}$. A recent single-cell sequencing project of the decidua identified three subsets of uNK cells, but we are yet to determine how they differ functionally. Several roles for uNK cells in implantation are starting to emerge including biosensing of poor-quality embryos, killing of bacteria infected trophoblast, spiral artery remodeling, and regulation of trophoblast invasion. Altered numbers of uNK cells have been identified in several pathological conditions, but whether this is causative of the condition is currently unclear.

The purpose of this paper is to report the long-term results in patients with more than 10 years follow-up after calcium hydroxyapatite ceramic (CHA) implantation for the treatment of bone tumor surgery. Fifty-five patients were implanted with CHA for bone defects after the intralesional resection of benign bone tumors. The postoperative functional recovery was obtained within first one year in all patients. The radiographic density at the CHA implant sites appeared to increase during first 2 years, thereafter gradually decrease with time. The density at 10 years or more after operation was about one half of the maximum in some patients. No adverse effects and late complications were seen in any patients. These findings suggested strongly that CHA is useful for bone substitute to fill the defects in benign bone tumors.
