This paper investigates the peristaltic flow of viscoelastic fluid represented by Jeffrey model in presence of transverse magnetic field under long wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions. The expressions of pressure gradient, volume flow rate, average volume flow rate and local wall shear stress are obtained. The effects of transverse magnetic field, electrical conductivity (i.e., Hartman number M), relaxation time and retardation time on pressure difference, local wall shear stress, and mechanical efficiency of peristaltic pump are discussed. Reflux limit for viscoelastic fluid is also found and the effects of all parameters on reflux phenomena are discussed. Comparative study of integral and nonintegral number of waves propagate in a train is presented.

As a means of influencing technological advancements in engineering applications and various fluid products, the generalized Fourier’s and Fick’s models have proven to be of great importance. Industries such as power station engineering, high thermal material processing, and bio-heat elements apply the concept of anomalous heat and mass transfer mechanism. The objective of this study is to stimulate the flow of a radiative magnetohydrodynamics Jeffery fluid over an expanding surface with anomalous heat and mass transfer dynamics subjected to nth order reaction and variable thermophysical properties. A set of similarity transformations is used to neutralize the governing equations into a nondimensionless form. To obtain the model parametric analysis, a numerical tool via the spectral local linearization method (SLLM) is deployed after transformation of the governing flow equation from a two-unknown partial differential equations to a one-variable ordinary differential equation. It is observed that the thermal boundary layer thickness is found to be enhanced with increasing parametric values of magnetic, Eckert and radiation parameters. For the radiation parameter $R\in [0.50,2.50]$, the skin drag force, Nusselt and Sherwood number increase by $0.61\%$, $48.00\%$ and $0.91\%$, respectively. Additionally, a $200\%$ increment in the nth order parameter boosts the rate of heat transfer by $0.78\%.$ while it downsizes the Sherwood number by $14.32\%$.

In this paper, effects of variable viscosity with heat transfer on solid particle motion of dusty Jeffrey fluid model through a planar channel has been examined. The governing flow problem for fluid phase and dusty phase is formulated with the help of momentum and energy equation. The resulting coupled ordinary differential equations have been solved analytically and closed form solutions are presented. The influence of all the physical parameters are sketched for velocity profile, pressure rise and temperature profile. Numerical computation is used to evaluate the expression for pressure rise. The present analysis is also presented for Newtonian fluid by taking ${\lambda }_1\to 0$ as a special case of our study. It is found that due to the influence of variable viscosity, the fluid velocity changes in the center of the channel and shows opposite behavior near the walls. It is also found that temperature profile increases for larger values of Prandtl number (Pr) and Eckert number (Ec).

Non-Newtonian fluids display fascinating and versatile flow behavior, enabling applications in fields where precise control and manipulation of viscosity are required. This paper presents the rheology of Homann stagnation point flow for a Jeffrey fluid containing gyrotactic microorganisms over a biaxially stretching surface. The system of equations is solved numerically using appropriate similarity transformations and conditions. The boundary conditions are set to maintain a fixed physical environment, and the far field values are defined accordingly. The dual solutions are found and expressed in terms of relevant quantities, and their behavior is analyzed using graphical representations via bvp5c. Stability analysis is conducted as well. The model is extended to study the behavior of Jeffrey nanofluids under the influence of various physical phenomena such as thermophoresis, Brownian motion, Ohmic heating, heat source/sink, radiation, and chemical reaction. The model presented in this paper can help researchers predict and optimize the behavior of such systems for a range of industrial and biomedical applications. It is observed that when the smallest eigenvalue is positive, the disturbance initially decreases, and the flow is stable, otherwise unstable. The stretching/shrinking parameters affect the flow field and boundary layer characteristics, leading to changes in the skin friction forces and an increase in the skin friction coefficient. Moreover, the Peclet number augmented the concentration of microorganisms due to gyrotactic bioconvection for first and second solutions, whereas bioconvective Lewis number shows an opposite trend. The comparison of the present results, as a simplified case, with existing literature demonstrates good agreement.

In the present article, we have discussed the closed-form analytical and numerical solutions of the peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid in an inclined tube with different viscosities and with different wave shapes. The closed-form analytical solutions have been computed by Adomian decomposition method and the numerical solutions have been calculated using finite difference technique. A comparison of numerical and analytical solutions have been presented and found a very good agreement between the two solutions. The expressions for pressure rise and friction forces are computed using numerical integration with the help of mathematics software. At the end various physical parameters appearing in the problem are shown pictorially and the results have been discussed in detail. The phenomena for different wave shape are also discussed.

A theoretical analysis of a multi-phase fluid problem is presented in this paper. Electro-osmotic flow with heat transfer in a divergent channel is modeled. Jeffrey fluid is taken as the base liquid, which suspends with the spherical gold particles. Electromagnetohydrodynamic (EHD) of a two-phase fluid through a porous medium is influenced by thermal radiation. Cumbersome mathematical manipulations leads to yield an exact solution for the set of strenuous differential equations. A comprehensive parametric study validates the accuracy and formidability of this intuitive analysis, by confirming the corresponding boundary conditions. The investigation articulately describes that the momentum of two-phase flow is supported by the Jeffrey fluid parameter. Additional golden particles increase the velocity of the base liquid. However, more thermal energy has contributed to the variation of the Brinkman number $B_{RM}$. Finally, thermal energy expunges from the diverse channel due to Jeffrey’s fluid parameter.

In this paper, the effects of peristaltic transport with double-diffusive convection in nanofluids through an asymmetric channel with different waveforms is presented. Mathematical modeling for two-dimensional and two-directional flows of a Jeffery fluid model along with double-diffusive convection in nanofluids are given. Exact solutions are obtained for nanoparticle fraction field, concentration field, temperature field, stream functions, pressure gradient and pressure rise in terms of axial and transverse coordinates under the restrictions of long wavelength and low Reynolds number. With the help of computational and graphical results, the effects of Brownian motion, thermospheres, Dufour, Soret and Grashof numbers (thermal, concentration, nanoparticles) on peristaltic flow patterns with double-diffusive convection are discussed.

Peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid in an inclined asymmetric channel is undertaken when the no-slip condition at the channel wall is no longer valid. The considered fluid is incompressible and electrically conducting. The flow is investigated in a waveframe of reference moving with the velocity of the wave. The analytic solution has been derived for the stream function under long wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions. The effect of slip and non-Newtonian parameter on the axial velocity and shear stress are discussed in detail. The salient features of pumping and trapping are discussed with particular focus on the effect of slip and non-Newtonian parameters.

The study of MHD peristaltic transport of a Jeffrey fluid through the gap between two deformable tubes has been investigated in this paper. The outer and the inner tubes have both sinusoidal waves travelling down their walls when the amplitudes and the wavelengths are different. The equations of motion are simplified under the assumption of long wavelengths and low Reynolds number approximations. Analytical solutions for the pressure rise and axial velocity has been obtained in the closed form. Effects of pertinent parameters on pressure gradient, pressure rise, axial velocity and mechanical efficiency have been discussed through graphs. The results show that we have two cases, the first one is $\mathrm{\Lambda }<1$, i.e., the wavelength of the inner tube is smaller than that of the outer tube and the second case is the opposite one $\mathrm{\Lambda }>1$. It is found that an increase of $\mathrm{\Lambda }$ causes a decrease of the pumping and the mechanical efficiency when $\mathrm{\Lambda }<1$ while an opposite behavior for $\mathrm{\Lambda }>1$ is observed. In addition and for the two cases, the pumping and the mechanical efficiency increase with increasing the amplitude ration of the outer tube or the radius ratio while they decrease with the increase in the Hartmann number, amplitude ration of the inner tube or in the ratio of relaxation to retardation times.

Peristaltic flow of a conducting Jeffrey fluid in an inclined asymmetric channel is investigated. The channel asymmetry is produced by considering a peristaltic wave train on the flexible walls of the channel with different amplitudes and phases. The nonlinear governing equations are solved analytically by a perturbation technique. The expressions for the stream function, axial velocity and the pressure rise per wavelength are determined in terms of the Jeffrey number λ₁, the Froude number Fr, the perturbation parameter δ, the angle of inclination θ and the phase difference ϕ. Effects of the physical parameters on the velocity field and the pumping characteristics are discussed. It is observed that the size of the trapping bolus increase with an increase in the magnetic parameter and the volume flow rate. That is, the magnetic parameter and the volume flow rate have strong influence on the trapping bolus phenomenon.

The objective of this communication is to examine the effect of rotation on the peristaltic motion of non-Newtonian fluid. Constitutive relationship of Jeffrey fluid is employed in the mathematical formulation and related analysis. The thermal radiation and Joule heating effects are also considered. An electrically conducting fluid in a channel with compliant boundaries is taken. Solution expressions are established through assumptions of large wavelength and low Reynolds number. Impact of Taylor and Hartman numbers on the axial velocity is similar in a qualitative sense. There is reverse effect of Taylor number on the secondary velocity when compared with the axial velocity. Temperature and heat transfer coefficients are increasing functions of Taylor number.

In this paper we analyze the influence of free convection on nonlinear peristaltic transport of a Jeffrey fluid in a finite vertical porous stratum using the Brinkman model. Heat is generated within the fluid by both viscous and Darcy dissipations. The coupled nonlinear governing equations are solved analytically. The expressions for the temperature, the axial velocity, the local wall shear stress and the pressure gradient are obtained. The effects of various physical parameters such as the Jeffrey parameter ${\lambda }_1$, the permeability parameter $\sigma$ and the heat source/sink parameter $\beta$ are analyzed through graphs, and the results are discussed in detail. It is observed that the velocity field increases with increasing values of the Jeffrey parameter but it decreases with increasing values of the permeability parameter. It is found that the pressure rise increases with decreasing Jeffrey parameter and increasing permeability parameter. We notice that the effect of the permeability parameter $\sigma$ is the strongest on the bolus trapping phenomenon. For ${\lambda }_1=0,$$N=0,$ the results of the present study reduce to the results of Tripathi [Math. Comput. Modelling57 (2013) 1270–1283]. Further the effect of viscous and Darcy dissipations is to reduce the rate of heat transfer in the finite vertical porous channel under peristalsis.
