Narrow Results

New relations between QCD Borel sum rules for masses of Σ⁰ and Λ hyperons are constructed. It is shown that starting from the sum rule for the Σ⁰ hyperon mass it is straightforward to obtain the corresponding sum rule for the Λ hyperon mass and vice versa.

In this paper magnetic dipole moment form factor, $G_M^{(2)}(Q^2)$, describing the radial excitation of decuplet baryons to octet baryons electromagnetic transitions as well as the ratios, $R_{SM}=-\frac{1}{4m_2^2}\sqrt{4m_2^2{Q}^2+{(m_2^2-Q^2-m_1^2)}^2}\frac{G_C^{(2)}(Q^2)}{G_M^{(2)}(Q^2)}$ and $R_{EM}=-\frac{G_E^{(2)}(Q^2)}{G_M^{(2)}(Q^2)}$ are calculated in the framework of light-cone sum rules. We also estimate the degree of the violation of U-spin symmetry.

Being the fountainhead of transverse distortion and asymmetries in accordance to “$\mathrm{\text{SSA}}=\mathrm{\text{GPD}}\ast \mathrm{\text{FSI}}$”, we study the spin-flip generalized parton distribution. We demonstrate this transverse deformation by using the quark-scalar diquark model and unveil a comparison among the low-lying strange baryons for distinct feasible combinations of quark–diquark pairs. Final-state interaction originating the correlation of a target spin and a virtual photon to the generated pion plane in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering has also been analyzed.

The effects of nonperturbatively generated "quark sea" have been investigated to determine the flavor structure of the octet baryons. The chiral constituent quark model (χ^CQM), which is known to provide a satisfactory explanation of the proton spin and related issues in the nonperturbative regime, is able to explain the qualitative generation of the requisite amount of quark sea. The importance of quark sea has been studied at different values of the Bjorken scaling variable x by including it phenomenologically in the sea quark distribution functions. The results for the quark sea asymmetries like , and Gottfried integral for the octet baryons strengthen the significance of quark sea at lower values of x.
