Recently, Android applications have been playing a vital part in the everyday life as several services are offered via mobile applications. In this research, researchers provide a method for distinguishing malicious Android apps from legitimate ones by using a intelligent hyperparameter tuned deep learning based malware detection (IHPT-DLMD). Extraction of features and preliminary data processing are the main functions of the IHPT-DLMD method. The proposed IHPT-DLMD technique initially aims to determine the considerable permissions and API calls using the binary coyote optimization algorithm (BCOA)-based FS technique, which aids to remove the unnecessary features. Besides, bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) model is employed for the detection and classification of Android malware. Finally, the glowworm swarm optimization (GSO) algorithm is applied to optimize the hyperparameters of the BiLSTM model to produce effectual outcomes for Android application classification. This IHPT-DLMD method is checked for quality using a benchmark dataset and evaluated in several ways. The test data demonstrated overall higher performance of the IHPT-DLMD methodology in comparison to the most contemporary methods that are currently in use.

We propose a framework which we call stochastic off-line programming (SOP). The idea is to embed the development of combinatorial algorithms in an off-line learning environment which helps the developer choose heuristic advisors that guide the search for satisfying or optimal solutions. In particular, we consider the case where the developer has several heuristic advisors available. Rather than selecting a single heuristic, we propose that one of the heuristics is chosen randomly whenever the heuristic guidance is sought. The task of the SOP is to learn favorable instance-specific distributions of the heuristic advisors in order to boost the average-case performance of the resulting combinatorial algorithm. Applying this methodology to a typical optimization problem, we show that substantial improvements can in fact be achieved when we perform learning in an instances specific manner.

This paper projects a Galactical Swarm Fractals Optimizer with DL-Enabled Object Detection for Autonomous Vehicles (GSODL-OOAV) model in Smart Cities. The presented GSODL-OOAV model enables the object identification for autonomous vehicles properly. To accomplish this, the GSODL-OOAV model initially employs a RetinaNet object detector to detect the objects effectively. Besides, the long short-term memory ensemble (BLSTME) technique was exploited to allot proper classes to the detected objects. A hyperparameter tuning procedure utilizing the GSO model is employed to enhance the classification efficiency of the BLSTME approach. The experimentation validation of the GSODL-OOAV technique is verified using the BDD100K database. The comparative study of the GSODL-OOAV approach illustrated a superior accuracy outcome of 99.06% over present innovative approaches.

The fifth-generation (5G) technology is anticipated to permit connectivity to billions of devices, called the Internet of Things (IoT). The primary benefit of 5G is that it has maximum bandwidth and can drastically expand service beyond cell phones to standard internet service for conventionally fixed connectivity to homes, offices, factories, etc. But IoT devices will unavoidably be the primary target of diverse kinds of cyberattacks, notably distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Since the conventional DDoS mitigation techniques are ineffective for 5G networks, machine learning (ML) approaches find helpful to accomplish better security. With this motivation, this study resolves the network security issues posed by network devices in the 5G networks and mitigates the harmful effects of DDoS attacks. This paper presents a new pigeon-inspired optimization-based feature selection with optimal functional link neural network (FLNN), PIOFS-OFLNN model for mitigating DDoS attacks in the 5G environment. The proposed PIOFS-OFLNN model aims to detect DDoS attacks with the inclusion of feature selection and classification processes. The proposed PIOFS-OFLNN model incorporates different techniques such as pre-processing, feature selection, classification, and parameter tuning. In addition, the PIOFS algorithm is employed to choose an optimal subset of features from the pre-processed data. Besides, the OFLNN based classification model is applied to determine DDoS attacks where the Rat Swarm Optimizer (RSO) parameter tuning takes place to adjust the parameters involved in the FLNN model optimally. The basic philosophy behind RED is to prevent congestion. When the average queue length exceeds the minimum threshold, packets are randomly dropped, or the explicit congestion notification bit is marked. Since network requirements differ significantly, it is not an optimal approach to establish RED parameters with constant value. There is a new algorithm we are proposing called Critical Point on Target Queue (AQM-RED-CPTQ), provide greater congestion management over the network while also preserving the value of RED. To overcome the problem in RED without changing queue weight parameter, we have proposed few models to control the congestion by introducing range parameter with probability and control mechanism which will belong between minimum and maximum threshold. The current queue size is controlled together with average queue size. A new range variable has been introduced to improve the performance of priority queue of existing RED based algorithm which improves the overall performance of networks. For each packet, minimum and maximum threshold has been updated and dropped with probability (Pa) for a special condition. Instead of multiplicative increase and decrease the maximum probability, the scheme uses additive-increase and multiplicative-decrease. Once the AVG queue length is close to the minimum threshold value, our approach automatically sets queue parameter according to queue conditions and handles queuing delay and improve throughput. The simulated results proof that our approaches are better than RED in terms of throughput, end to end delay, packet delivery ratio and goodput.

The quality of Chinese medical herbs depends on their geographical origins. Combining support vector machine (SVM) with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is a fast, accurate and nondestructive technique to classify the herbal origins. It is time consuming to tune the key parameters of SVM elaborately. However, a special leave-one-out (LOO) error bound of generalization ability (i.e., the ratio of the number of support vectors to the number of training vectors) can be estimated through training binary SVM once. In this paper, averaging all LOO error bounds over binary SVM classifiers is defined as the LOO error bound for multiclass problem according to one-against-other technique. Using this error bound and grid search, we can estimate the regularization and kernel parameters in SVM efficiently. In our experiments, 269 spectral curves of Dahurian Angelica Root (Baizhi in Chinese) from four provinces in China are examined in detail using polynomial and RBF kernels. On eight testing subsets, the average error rate is 3.53%. For four geographical origins, the highest error rate 6.07% is obtained using Zhejiang's herb. These results demonstrate that for classifying the herbal origins our proposed method can effectively tune SVM parameters and achieve high classification accuracy simultaneously.

Evolutionary algorithms (EAs) have recently been applied to Uncoded Space-Time Labeling Diversity (USTLD) systems to produce labeling diversity mappers. However, the most challenging task is choosing the best parameter setting for the EA to create a more ‘optimal’ mapper design. This paper proposes a ‘meta-Genetic Algorithm (GA)’ used to tune hyperparameters for the Labeling Diversity EA. The algorithm is examined on 16, 32 and 64QAM; 32 and 64PSK; 16, 32 and 64APSK and 16APSK constellations that do not show diagonal symmetry. Furthermore, the meta-GA settings and original GA settings are compared in terms of the number of generations taken to converge to a solution. For QAM constellations, the output using the meta-GA settings matched but did not improve with the original settings. However, the number of generations needed to converge to a solution took 120 times less than the number of generations using the original settings. In the 64PSK constellation, a diversity gain of $\approx 1$dB was observed while improving on the actual fitness value from 0.0575 to 0.0661. Similarly, with 32APSK constellation, an improvement in fitness value from 0.1457 to 0.1748 was made while showing diversity gains of $\approx 1$dB. 64APSK constellation fitness value improved from 0.0708 to 0.0957, and a $\approx 2$dB gain was observed. The most significant improvement was made by the asymmetric 16APSK constellation, with gains of $\approx 5$dB and increasing its fitness value three times (0.0981 to 0.3000). A study of the effects of optimizing the GA parameters shows that the number of swaps during crossover $(K)$ and the radius $(\Re )$ were the two most important variables to optimize when executing this GA.

This chapter presents a new practical control system that can apply conventional PID controllers to nonlinear field by using fuzzy reasoning. The proposed system is a hierarchical one consisting of two components: (a) a Fuzzy-PID controller, and (b) a supervisor for setting the control target of this controller. The fuzzy controller in the Fuzzy-PID controller compensates the output error of the conventional PID controller. The supervisor calculates the control target by fuzzy reasoning. This hierarchical control system is applied to the temperature control in a petroleum plant. The parameters in fuzzy controller are tuned on-line in the actual plant and the system can control the temperature effectively in the transient state, such as feed property changing or operation mode changing, as well as in the steady state

This paper investigates the speed response characteristics of the internal model controller. Speed response parameter of the internal model controller is adjusted from low value to high value. The different value speed response is plotted using Matlab/Simulink. Chirp noise is added in the plant and the dynamic behavior is studied, sinusoidal dither signal is injected and the suppression of limit cycle oscillation is proof read and the performance is presented.
