We perform numerical simulations of a new proposal of laboratory experiment that would allow the transformation of a classical fluid into a quantum-type (super)fluid through the application of a generalized quantum potential. This quantum potential is simulated by using a real time retroactive loop involving a measurement of density, a calculation of the potential in function of the measured density, then an application of the calculated potential through a classical force. This general experimental concept is exemplified here by the case of a nonspreading oscillating wave packet in a harmonic oscillator potential. We find signatures of a quantum-like behavior which are stable against various perturbations. Finally, the feasability of a realization of this concept in an actual plasma experiment is analyzed.

Envelope solitons of the Nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) under quantum potential's influence are studied. Corresponding problem is found to be integrable for an arbitrary strength, s ≠ 1, of the quantum potential. For s < 1, the model is equivalent to the usual NLS with rescaled coupling constant, while for s > 1, to the reaction–diffusion system. The last one is related to the anti-de Sitter (AdS) space valued Heisenberg model, realizing a particular gauge fixing condition of the (1+1)-dimensional Jackiw–Teitelboim gravity. For this gravity model, by the Madelung fluid representation we derive the acoustic form of the space–time metric. The space–time points, where dispersion changes the sign, correspond to the event horizon, while the soliton solution to the AdS black hole. Moving with the above bounded velocity, it describes evolution on the one sheet hyperboloid with nontrivial winding number, and creates under collision, the resonance states which we study by the Hirota bilinear method.

It is shown that the quantum potential may be used in the form of an equation of state together with the equation of hydrostatic equilibrium to obtain quantum-gravitational bodies, which are polytropes of index 2 in the Newtonian case and geons of Planck mass and radius in relativistic case.

In earlier papers, we have introduced an approach for quantum-gravitational bodies based on the quantum potential written in the form of an equation of state to be added to equations of gravitation theories. In the case of Einsteinian gravitation, we have obtained quantum black holes by rough calculation but, in the case of Newtonian gravitation, with additional assumption on "no-escape" radius for light, the same bodies may be obtained by simple but rigorous mathematical calculation. This paper deals with Newtonian rotating quantum black holes and derives their mass spectrum that is closed to those of some authors based on relativistic treatment.

The relativistic hydrodynamical equations are being examined with the aim of extracting the quantum-mechanical equations (the relativistic Klein–Gordon equation and the Schrödinger equation in the non-relativistic limit). In both cases we find the quantum potential, which follows from pressure gradients within a superfluid vacuum medium. This special fluid, endowed with viscosity allows to describe emergence of the flat orbital speeds of spiral galaxies. The viscosity averaged on time vanishes, but its variance is different from zero. It is a function fluctuating about zero. Therefore, the flattening is the result of the energy exchange of the torque with zero-point fluctuations of the physical vacuum on the ultra-low frequencies.

Recently, some authors proposed a new mechanism which gets rid of the Big Bang singularity and shows that the age of the universe is infinite. In this paper, we will confirm their results and predict that the universe may expand and contract many N fundamental strings decay to N M0–anti-M0-branes. Then, M0-branes join each other and build a M8-anti-M8 system. This system is unstable, broken and two anti-M4-branes, a compactified M4-brane, a M3-brane in addition to one M0-brane are produced. The M3-brane wraps around the compactified M4-brane and both of them oscillate between two anti-M4-branes. Our universe is located on the M3-brane and interacts with other branes by exchanging the M0-brane and some scalars in transverse directions. By wrapping of M3-brane, the contraction epoch of universe starts and some higher order of derivatives of scalar fields in the relevant action of branes are produced which are responsible for generating the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP). By oscillating the compactified M4-M3-brane and approaching one of anti-M4-branes, one end of M3-brane glues to the anti-M4-brane and other end remains sticking and wrapping around M4-brane. Then, by getting away of the M4-M3 system, M4 rolls, wrapped M3 opens and expansion epoch of universe begins. By closing the M4 to anti-M4, the mass of some scalars become negative and they make a transition to tachyonic phase. To remove these states, M4 rebounds, rolls and M3 wraps around it again. At this stage, expansion branch ends and universe enters a contraction epoch again. This process is repeated many times and universe expands and contracts due to oscillation of branes. We obtain the scale factor of universe in this system and find that its values only at t$\to -\infty$ shrinks to zero. Thus, in our method, the Big Bang is replaced by the fundamental string and the age of universe is predicted to be infinite. Also, when tachyonic states disappear at the beginning of expansion branch, some extra energy is produced and leads to an increase in the velocity of opening of M3. In these conditions, our universe, which is located on this brane, expands very fast and experiences an inflation epoch. Finally, by reducing the fields in 11-dimensional M-theory to the fields in four-dimensional universe, we show that our theory matches with quantum field theory prescriptions.

The Weyl geometry promises potential applications in gravity and quantum mechanics. We study the relationships between the Weyl geometry, quantum entropy and quantum entanglement based on the Weyl geometry endowing the Euclidean metric. We give the formulation of the Weyl Ricci curvature and Weyl scalar curvature in the n-dimensional system. The Weyl scalar field plays a bridge role to connect the Weyl scalar curvature, quantum potential and quantum entanglement. We also give the Einstein–Weyl tensor and the generalized field equation in 3D vacuum case, which reveals the relationship between Weyl geometry and quantum potential. Particularly, we find that the correspondence between the Weyl scalar curvature and quantum potential is dimension-dependent and works only for the 3D space, which reveals a clue to quantize gravity and an understanding why our space must be 3D if quantum gravity is compatible with quantum mechanics. We analyze numerically a typical example of two orthogonal oscillators to reveal the relationships between the Weyl scalar curvature, quantum potential and quantum entanglement based on this formulation. We find that the Weyl scalar curvature shows a negative dip peak for separate state but becomes a positive peak for the entangled state near original point region, which can be regarded as a geometric signal to detect quantum entanglement.

The scattering properties of particles in a one-dimensional Fibonacci sequence based potential have been analyzed by means of the Transfer Matrix Method. The electronic band gaps are examined comparatively with those obtained using the corresponding periodic potentials. The reflection coefficient shows self-similar properties for the Fibonacci superlattices. Moreover, by using the generalized Bragg's condition, the band gaps positions are derived from the golden mean involved in the design of the superlattice structure.

We show that if Dark Matter is made up of light bosons, they form a Bose–Einstein condensate in the early Universe. This in turn naturally induces a Dark Energy of approximately equal density and exerting negative pressure. This explains the so-called coincidence problem.

In this essay, we show that if one starts with a universe with some matter and a cosmological constant, then quantum mechanics naturally induces an attractive gravitational potential and an effective Newton’s coupling. Thus, gravity is an emergent phenomenon and what should be quantized are the fundamental degrees of freedom from which it emerges.

In this essay, we show that Newton’s gravitational potential, augmented by a logarithmic term, partly or wholly mitigates the need for dark matter. As a bonus, it also explains why MOND seems to work at galactic scales. We speculate on the origin of such a potential.

It has recently been shown that any observed potential can in principle be generated via quantum mechanics using a suitable wave function. In this work, we consider the concrete example of the gravitational potential experienced by a test particle at length scales spanning from the planetary to the cosmological, and determine the wave function that would produce it as its quantum potential. In other words, the observed gravitational interaction at all length scales can be generated by an underlying wave function. We discuss implications of our result.

We regard the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation as an ensemble mean representation of the stochastic motion of a single particle in a vacuum, subject to an undefined stochastic quantum force. The local mean of the quantum force is found to be proportional to the third spatial derivative of the probability density function, while its associated pressure is proportional to the second spatial derivative. The latter arises from the single particle diluted gas pressure, and this observation allows to interpret the quantum Bohm potential as the energy required to put a particle in a bath of fluctuating vacuum at constant entropy and volume.

The stochastic force expectation value is zero and is uncorrelated with the particle location, thus does not perform work on average. Nonetheless, it is anti-correlated with volume and this anti-correlation leads to an uncertainty relation. We analyze the dynamic Gaussian solution to the Schrödinger equation as a simple example for exploring the mean properties of this quantum force. We conclude with a few possible interpretations as to the origins of quantum stochasticity.

According to Standard Quantum Mechanics (SQM), known as the Copenhagen Interpretation, the complete description of a system of particles is provided by its wave function. However, in the de Broglie-Bohm theory of Bohmian Quantum Mechanics (BQM), the additional element which is introduced apart from the wave function is the particle position, conceived in the classical sense as pursuing a definite continuous track in space-time. In BQM formulation, depending on the configuration of the potential barrier and the energy of the packet, the particle trajectories have been shown to take distinct paths. We will consider several barrier heights and show that in a Bohmian interpretation of the problem, there is no such thing as Quantum Tunnelling.

We give an explicit operator realization of Dirac quantization of free particle motion on a surface of codimension 1. It is shown that the Dirac recipe is ambiguous and a natural way of fixing this problem is proposed. We also introduce a modification of Dirac procedure which yields zero quantum potential. Some problems of Abelian conversion quantization are pointed out.

Electromagnetic quantum field interactions provide a deeper understanding of the emergence of consciousness through an ontological interpretation of quantum mechanics. Quasiparticle interactions in brain matter can produce “virtual” particles, hitherto mathematical conveniences, which reflect the manifold images of brain activities in terms of effects on charged particles that have physical quantum effect similar to the Aharonov-Bohm effect in quantum field theory. Electromagnetic potentials in the quantum domain pervade the entire brain through causative interactions. The exchange of energy quanta during quantum field interactions emerge as distinct patterns of quasiparticles and their entanglement produces waves of “virtual” particles with periodicities of discrete energies tethered through a common quantum potential as they interact and collectively represent the emergence of self-awareness as a quantum dynamic effect carried on the magnetic vector potential throughout the brain. This is caused by the magnetic dipole moments sensitivity to the phase shifts entrained by the zeitgeber acting on dipolar molecules in interfacial water. The emergence of consciousness is inseparable (spatiotemporally) in the sense that the endogenous electromagnetic field (and therefore the forces acting on the particles) vanish yet neurophenomenologically separate from the physical through the magnetic dipole moments sensitivity to the phase shifts of the coherent system. The subjective aspect of consciousness or phenomenal consciousness facilitates qualia as quantum information through information-physical interactions that metastabilize into rhythms unfolding through resonance into access consciousness as cognizable associable representations of subjective experiences. The transition from subjectivity occurs non-reductively from the microlevel to the macrolevel as a mechanism of spontaneous breaking of symmetry resulting from “photon” behavior of interfacial water instantiated by macroergic effects in the nuclei of neurons through a continuous supply of metabolic energy. The emergence of consciousness in living organisms disappears once autopoietic processes in populations of neurons cease to function.
