By generalized symmetry group method, some time-space-dependent finite transformations between two different (2 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equations (NLSE) are constructed. From these transformations, some (2 + 1)-dimensional variable coefficients NLSE can be reduced to another variable coefficients NLSE or corresponding constant coefficients NLSE. Abundant solutions of some (2 + 1)-dimensional variable coefficients NLSE are obtained from their corresponding constant coefficients NLSE.

Reduced non-Abelian monopole equations are derived for a set of dimensional reductions, with cases involving supplementary algebraic conditions. (Local) solutions to certain reduced ordinary differential equations of the flat four-dimensional non-Abelian monopole equations are discussed.

The integrable higher-order Heisenberg spin system with quintic terms in self-consistent potential (HHSQ) is an extension of Heisenberg ferromagnetic equations. In this paper, we calculate the Lax expression of the HHSQ system, then the motioning curves in $(1+1)$ dimension of Heisenberg ferromagnetic equations have been discussed. The Darboux transformation of the HHSQ system is constructed and a set of soliton solutions will be demonstrated by Darboux transformation.

In this work, the importance of the capability to capture dynamic loading for an integration method is emphasized. In a step-by-step integration procedure, amplitude distortions in the transient and steady-state responses depend on the step discretization error of dynamic loading for each time step. Correlations between amplitude distortion and step discretization error for dynamic loadings are analytically established for a specified integration method. These correlations may be considered as the basic numerical properties in evaluating a step-by-step integration method. As a result, the superiority of the previously published algorithm (PPA) [S. Y. Chang, Int. J. Numer. Meth. Eng.77(8) (2009) 1100–1120] over its modified form and the member of Newmark family method (MNM) with β = γ = 1/2 in capturing dynamic loading is analytically verified (even though the three algorithms have exactly the same characteristic equation).

We present an elementary method to compute the exact p-divisibility of exponential sums of systems of polynomial equations over the prime field. Our results extend results by Carlitz and provide concrete and simple conditions to construct families of polynomial equations that are solvable over the prime field.

In recent years, with the advent of China's economic reforms, particularly SOE (state-owned enterprise) reforms, the mixed ownership economy has been growing rapidly. At the same time, labor relations in China have changed a lot. Under the current socialist market economy system framework, the actions of state-owned and private enterprises are becoming more homogenous. Be they public or private enterprises, the intensification of labor conflicts has become a major obstacle to a harmonious society. Labor relations tend to intensify, and the conflicts more acute. In the past, we refused to admit or overlooked the complexity of this problem, whether consciously or unconsciously, when in actual fact labor conflicts have intensified in the whole country. Within the first quarter of 2007, there were 75,000 labor disputes cases involving 142,000 workers at all levels for the arbitration committee to deal with. In the long run, we must set up an efficient mechanism which can coordinate the interests of both parties (labor and capital), strengthen the management function of the government, speed up the construction of relevant labor-relation laws, implement the law strictly and abolish the old ideas of both enterprises and workers so as to solve the labor conflicts, establish harmonious labor relations, and allow the economy to develop in a sustainable, stable and harmonious manner.
