This research simulates flow of blood in a tapered peristaltic artery integrating ternary hybrid nanofluid using the Jeffrey fluid model. The simulation examines the effects of Au, Fe₃O₄, and Ag nanoparticles on the flow. The artery, modeled as a peristaltic channel, is subjected to nonlinear thermal radiation, magnetic forces, and heat source. The problem is formulated using non-linear Cartesian partial differential equations, which are then transformed into dimensionless form without approximations. Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) is employed to solve these equations, revealing how normal and shear stress, normal and axial velocities, induced magnetic fields, and temperature profiles vary with changes in relevant parameters. Additionally, biological factors are considered to graph streamlines, providing a comprehensive analysis of the flow dynamics. Some notable results include that adding ternary nanoparticles increases the Nusselt number by 26.03% in Newtonian fluids and 158.69% in Jeffrey fluids, and increasing tapering parameters and wavenumber improves axial and normal velocities, heat transfer, and flow complexity.

In this article, we have studied a non-Newtonian fluid model for blood flow through a tapered artery with a stenosis by assuming blood as Jeffrey fluid. The main purpose of our study was to follow the idea of Mekheimer and El Kot (2008), for Jeffrey fluid model, mean to study Jeffrey fluid model for blood flow through a tapered artery with a stenosis, Jeffrey fluid model is a non-Newtonian fluid model in which we consider convective derivative instead of time derivative. It is capable of describing the phenomena of relaxation and retardation time. The Jeffrey fluid has two parameters, the relaxation time λ₁ and retardation time . Perturbation method is used to solve the resulting equations. The effects of non-Newtonian nature of blood on velocity profile, wall shear stress, shearing stress at the stenosis throat, and impedance of the artery are discussed. The results for Newtonian fluid are obtained as special case from this model.

Coronary stents are used to prop open blocked arteries in order to restore normal blood flow. A major setback in this technology is in-stent restenosis (ISR), which gravely limits the clinical success of stents, especially in tapered vessels. The present study used the finite element method to study the effects of arterial tapering on the biomechanical behavior of both stents and vessels during stent deployment inside tapered arteries. The effect of arterial tapering was demonstrated by a combination of corresponding tapered arteries with various tapering angles, including a straight artery case for comparison. Results indicated that an increase of vessel tapering led to an increase in stent radial recoil, stent tapering following expansion, and von Mises stresses on vessels. However, an increase of vessel tapering also led to a decrease in stent foreshortening. The analysis provides suggestions for clinical application in tapered vessels. The finite element method evaluated mechanical stent behavior in tapered vessels, and can help designers to optimize the design of stents for tapered vessels.

In this paper, a magnetic and non-Newtonian fluid model for pulsatile flow of blood with periodic body acceleration has been investigated by adopting Laplace transform and finite Hankel transform. A closed form of analytic solution is obtained for physiologically important quantities such as velocity profile, flow rate, wall shear stress and flow resistance. Effects of different physical parameters reflecting couple stress parameter, Darcy number, Hartman number, tapering angle (divergent tapered tube or convergent tapered tube), shape stenosis parameter and amplitude of periodic acceleration on wall shear stress and flow resistance have been emphasized. For any value of taper angle ($\zeta$) and stenotic height (${\delta }_s$), it is pertinent to point out here that the wall shear stress is less in the case of flow through the asymmetric stenosed tube as compared to the case of flow through the symmetric stenosed tube when one is in the up-stream of flow region, but it is of opposite behavior as one moves in the down-stream of flow region. It is important to note that the flow resistance increases significantly and more nonlinearly with the increase in the axial distance in the case of flow through a converging tapered artery with stenosis as compared to that of the same flow through a stenosed artery. The size of trapping bolus becomes larger for the flow of couple stress fluid through a converging tapered arterial stenosis than that of the same flow through a stenosed artery. Another important result is that as compared to the case of Newtonian fluid, the couple stress fluid behaviour plays a key role in increasing the size of trapping bolus. This investigation puts forward important observations that the asymmetric nature of stenosis considered plays a predominant role in reducing the flow resistance in the case of diseased blood vessel and the flow resistance is higher for the case of couple stress fluid than that of Newtonian fluid. Finally, some applications of the present model have been briefly discussed.

In-stent restenosis (ISR), which is a common complication after stent intervention, affects the long-term outcome of stent intervention. Suitable implantation planning will effectively reduce the incidence of ISR. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of different implantation planning on the mechanical behavior of stents in tapered vessels with multiple stenoses and select a better implantation planning. The finite element method (FEM) was used in this study. A different planning was designed as follows: (a) using a cylindrical balloon to deploy cylindrical stent (plan CC), (b) using the tapered balloon to deploy cylindrical stent (plan TC) and (c) using the tapered balloon to deploy tapered stent (plan TT). When the stent was expanded to the maximum diameter, the position of maximum vascular stress all appeared at distal plaque in three implantation plans. After balloon was deflated, the vascular stress in plan TC was the minimum. Using tapered balloon to deploy cylindrical stent has advantages in the tapered vessels with multiple stenoses and could reduce the probability of ISR. Moreover, this method could assess the mechanical properties of stent deployment in multiple stenoses and then select a better implantation planning.

In the current critique, we deliberate the blood flow through narrowing vein with a stenosis in the manifestation of heat and mass transmission. The non-Newtonian flora of blood in small veins are examined mathematically by demonstrating the blood as Carreau fluid. The illustration for the blood flow is debated through an axially irregular but outward regular stenosis. Regularity in the dissemination of the fortification clipping stress and resistive impedance and their evolution with the emerging stenosis is a new significant feature of our investigation. Analytical solutions have been appraised for "velocity, temperature, concentration, resistance impedance, wall shear stress and shearing stress at the stenosis throat". The graphical consequences of different types of tapering arteries (i.e. "converging tapering, diverging tapering, non-tapered artery") have been studied for dissimilar constraints of attention. Rivulet shapes have been strategized for different parameters at the culmination of the article.

Constitutive equation of Carreau fluid has been invoked in the mathematical formulation. Symmetry of the distribution of the wall shearing stress and resistive impedance and their growth with the developing stenosis is given due attention. Solutions have been obtained for the velocity, temperature, concentration, resistance impedance, wall shear stress and shearing stress at the stenosis throat. Graphical illustrations associated with the tapered arteries namely converging, diverging and non-tapered arteries are examined for different parameters of interest. Streamlines have been plotted and discussed.

In this study a mathematical model for two-dimensional pulsatile blood flow through overlapping constricted tapered vessels is presented. In order to establish resemblance to the in vivo conditions, an improved shape of the time-variant overlapping stenosis in the elastic tapered artery subject to pulsatile pressure gradient is considered. Because it contains a suspension of all erythrocytes, the flowing blood is represented by micropolar fluid. By applying a suitable coordinate transformation, tapered cosine-shaped artery turned into non-tapered rectangular and a rigid artery. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations under the imposed realistic boundary conditions are solved using the finite difference method. The effects of vessel tapering on flow characteristics considering their dependencies with time are investigated. The results show that by increasing the taper angle the axial velocity and volumetric flow rate increase and the microrotational velocity and resistive impedance reduce. It has been shown that the results are in agreement with similar data from the literature.
