More than 50 years have passed since computer first appeared. And it is said that at the beginning of the 21st century, a supercomputer having the performance of information processing similar to a human brain will be developed, and a personal computer will have this performance in the 2030s. Our application technique of computer has progressed from the calculation to the realization of intelligent systems. Some important points leading to the realization of intelligent systems are "composition," "emergence," "fuzzy system," "parallel processing," etc. As new information processing technologies, "fuzzy logic," "neuro," "genetic algorithm," "chaos" and "artificial life" have been drawing wide attention.
In this paper we consider chaos and fuzzy logic. In Sec. 1, we describe chaos engineering. In Sec. 2, nonlinear short-term prediction on chaotic time series is described, in particular the Local Fuzzy Reconstruction Method is described in detail. And in Sec. 3, some applications of nonlinear short-term prediction are shown.
