This paper addresses the squeezed flow of third grade fluid between two parallel disks. Heat transfer in present flow is characterized by Cattaneo–Christov theory. Thermal relaxation time effects on the boundary layer is examined. Suitable transformations are invoked for a system of ordinary differential equations. Convergent series solutions are thus obtained using homotopic approach. Influences of different parameters on the velocity and temperature profile are discussed.

This paper discusses the effects of wall properties on the peristaltic flow of an incompressible third grade fluid in a curved channel. Series solution is obtained under the approximation of long wavelength and low Reynolds number. Relation of stream function is derived. The variations of the interesting parameters entering into the problem are carefully analyzed. It is observed that the velocity profiles are not symmetric about the central line of the curved channel. Moreover, the bolus size increases with an increase in the curvature parameter in the upper half of the channel. Whereas it is found to decrease upon increasing the curvature parameter in the lower half of the channel.

Shock waves are plane discontinuities, pulse-like in nature, and are sometimes more appropriately called shock fronts. Formation and characteristics of shock waves can be easily understood by studying the flow of a compressible fluid through a nozzle. One can see that in some cases, continuity considerations lead to the formation of plane shock waves across which there are discontinuities in pressure, density, temperature, etc. The principles of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy still apply across these plane discontinuities, but there is an entropy gain. In this chapter, we mainly discuss the recent developments of shock waves, shock-wave solutions, and traveling-wave solutions in viscoelastic generalization of Burgers’ equation. We also discuss the shock wave solutions of differential equations arising due to flow of some viscoelastic fluids of differential type.
