A three-dimensional (3D) Cd-CP [Cd(H₂L)]_n was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions [${\mathrm{\text{H}}}_4\mathrm{\text{L}}=1\mathrm{\text{H}},1^{\prime }\mathrm{\text{H}}$-[2,4${}^{\prime }$-biimidazole]-4,5-dicarboxylicacid]. The structure of [Cd(H₂L)]_n was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and the result shows that it exhibits a non-centrosymmetric lig(LiGe) network constructed from interconnecting C₂-symmetric metallacalix[4]arenes Cd₄(H₂L)₄ MBBs. This complex exhibits light blue fluorescence emission originated from intraligand ${\pi }^{\ast }\to \pi$ electron transition, indicating that the d${}^{10}$ metal ions can hardly absorb energy and thus have no interference with the fluorescence of the ligand. The UV–Vis was used to investigate the optical property of the sample, which is essentially not absorbed in the visible light area and the band gap of the sample is about 2.2eV. Moreover, nonlinear optical (NLO) determination shows that the sample exhibits an obvious second-harmonic generation (SHG) response of $\sim 1.2\times \mathrm{\text{urea}}$.

Periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) predominantly has a random duty-cycle error (RDE), latent in them by virtue of poling mechanism. This error needs to be quantitatively predicted to abstain from parasitic harmonic generation. In this paper, we have calculated the influence of the RDEs degenerate noise in second-harmonic generation (SHG) consisting of PPLN. Here, we propose a method for calculating the random domain-wall distribution statistics by the SHG. We explored the equivalence between the statistics of random domain distribution by SHG and far-field diffraction pattern method.

We present the experimental demonstration of a self-trapped optical beam bending in a photorefractive Fe-doped lithium niobate (LN:Fe) crystal controlled by the pyroelectric effect. Formation of self-trapped beams with typical $\sim$50$\mu$m diameter and large bending of $\sim$140$\mu$m are depicted in a 1cm length LN:Fe crystal for a laser beam at 632.8nm wavelength and 0.5mW power with a 30^∘C crystal temperature change. The self-trapped beam bending is opposite to the crystal $C^{+}$-axis. The underlying physics is elaborated and numerical simulations are performed. The long-living waveguiding channels with controlled curvilinear trajectories are promising for optical information routing.

This paper implements the sub-ODE method and a wide spectrum of solitons are recovered for Kudryashov’s law of refractive index. The self-phase modulation comprises of four nonlinear components of refractive index. The perturbation terms are all of Hamiltonian type and are considered with maximum intensity. The solutions are written in terms of Weierstrass’ elliptic functions and Jacobi’s elliptic function. With the modulus of ellipticity approaching zero or unity, soliton solutions emerge.
