Two-pion production in the pion-nucleon reaction is studied in a meson-exchange model with resonances. The model matches with chiral perturbation theory in the threshold region and includes unitarization effects at the two-particle level. Results are compared with the recent BNL data.
A model for two-pion production in pion-induced reactions including the excitation of baryon resonances is presented and applied to the recent Brookhaven data. The impact of the Θ+(1540) resonance on differential and integrated cross sections for kaon reactions on nuclei is analysed using the Jülich kaon-nucleon model. An upper limit for the width of the pentaquark candidate of 1 MeV results.
