The local group velocity defined as the weak value of the velocity operator in (1 + 1)-dimensional Klein-Gordon and Dirac theory is studied. As shown by Berry [J. Phys. A  45, 185308 (2012)], when the pre- and post-selected states for evaluating the weak value are chosen at random from an ensemble of available states, it gives rise to a universal probability distribution for the local group velocity which can have both subluminal and superluminal components. In this work, we explore the possibility of enhancement of the superluminal fraction of this total probability distribution by applying a Lorentz boost and show that it can indeed be enhanced both in the case of Klein–Gordon and Dirac theories.

High-dimensional quantum communication plays an important role in long-distance quantum communication. It is shown that two-qubit quantum entanglement can be protected from amplitude damping decoherence. We study the effect of amplitude damping decoherence on two-qubit high-dimensional quantum entanglement. The negativity for high-dimensional quantum entanglement with or without quantum weak measurement and the reversal in amplitude damping decoherence are presented. We found that nonmaximally entangled state may have better performance than maximally entangled state in amplitude damping decoherence. Moreover, we show that arbitrary high-dimensional quantum entanglement can be protected from amplitude damping decoherence by weak measurement and the reversal. The results of our protocol are in agreement with previous analysis for the case of qubits and qutrits.

Decay parameter of coherence and population inversion are calculated from the master equation of a two-level atom tunneling through a squeezed vacuum. Using those parameters, the timescales for decoherence and Zeno effect are calculated in the weak measurement scheme. By comparing those timescales, a certain condition on the relevant experimental parameters has been found for sustainable coherent dynamics.

In this paper, we explore the dynamics and protection of quantum coherence in an open system under non-inertial frames by weak measurement and reversal, and design four strategies to protect the quantum coherence of an initial two-qubit entangled state, when the systems suffer from amplitude damping (AD) channel and one subsystem is under non-inertial frames. In practice, there is no strict inertial frames, decoherence and degradation of the quantum coherence caused by the Unruh effect form acceleration will have a significant interaction, therefore it is important to find some means to protect quantum coherence under non-inertial frames.

In this paper, the technique of weak measurement is employed in order to enhance the fidelity of joint remote state preparation (JRSP) protocol under decoherence. We design a quantum circuit of joint remote preparation of a single-qubit state through a GHZ state. Then, we analytically derive the average fidelity of the JRSP protocol under four types of noise usually encountered in real-world implementations of quantum communication protocols, i.e. the phase-flip, depolarizing, amplitude-damping and bit-flip noise. Our study shows that the application of weak measurement and measurement reversal could enhance the average fidelity of the JRSP process under the influence of phase-flip, depolarizing, amplitude-damping noise for most values of the decoherence parameters. If the JRSP process suffers from the bit-flip noise, the weak measurement technique is not useful for increasing the average fidelity.

The approach to question answering is challenging because it usually requires finding useful information from within and between question and answer sentences for sentence semantic matching. The key information mined from existing question and answer sentences, as a supplement to semantic information, maybe helpful for this task. However, capturing the intra-sentence and inter-sentence semantic interactions is somewhat difficult given the implicit interrelationships between question and answer sentences. Although the learning effect of multi-layer neural network is good, it lacks explanatory and theoretical support. This paper mainly studies how to select the best answer sentence from a set of question and answer sentences, mine information more effectively, perform semantic matching, and have a certain interpretability. Therefore, we propose a hierarchical attention network (QHAN) based on the mathematical framework of quantum theory, which integrates the attention mechanism under quantum measurement and density matrix (DMATT) and the attention mechanism under quantum weak measurement and weak value (WMATT) in one in a unified model framework. QHAN can not only discover key sentences in a set of question and answer sentences and key words in a sentence, but also perform sentence semantic matching quickly and accurately. Furthermore, QHAN has the advantage of interpretability in terms of models due to the physical meaning and attentional full weight distribution implied by quantum theory. Extensive experiments on the question answering dataset show that our method is comparable to the baselines and can explain why the selected question and answer sentence is the best option in terms of intra-sentence and inter-sentence attention distributions.

We address the quantum estimation of parameters encoded into the initial state of two modes of a Dirac field described by relatively accelerated parties. By using the quantum Fisher information (QFI), we investigate how the weak measurements performed before and after the accelerating observer, affect the optimal estimation of information encoded into the weight and phase parameters of the initial state shared between the parties. Studying the QFI, associated with weight parameter $𝜗$, we find that the acceleration at which the optimal estimation occurs may be controlled by weak measurements. Moreover, it is shown that the post-measurement plays the role of a quantum key for manifestation of the Unruh effect. On the other hand, investigating the phase estimation optimization and assuming that there is no control over the initial state, we show that the weak measurements may be utilized to match the optimal $𝜗$ to its predetermined value. Moreover, in addition to determination of a lower bound on the QFI with the local quantum uncertainty (LQU), we unveil an important upper bound on the precision of phase estimation in our relativistic scenario, given by the maximal steered coherence (MSC). We also obtain a compact expression of the MSC for general X states.

We have investigated the dynamic features of the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation (QMA EUR) in the amplitude damping (AD) channel. The initial state of qubit system and quantum memory system shared between Alice and Bob is assumed as extended by Werner-like (EWL) state. To reduce the amount of entropic uncertainty of Pauli observables in this noisy channel, we presented a reduction scheme by means of weak measurements (WMs) and weak measurement reversals (WMRs) before and after the entangled system subjecting to the noisy channel. It is shown that the prior WM and poster WMR can effectively reduce quantity of entropic uncertainty, but the poster WM operation cannot played a positive role on reduction of quantity of entropic uncertainty. We hope that our proposal could be verified experimentally and might possibly have future applications in quantum information processing.

In practical application, since quantum entanglement is inevitably destroyed by thermal noise resulted from environment, protecting entanglement from decoherence in thermal bath environment becomes a critically important issue in the field of quantum information. In this work, we propose a scheme to protect the tripartite Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) entanglement state subjected to the generalized amplitude damping (GAD) channel based on the quantum technique of weak measurement (WM) and quantum measurement reversal (QMR). By optimizing the strengths of WM and QMR, the decoherence caused by the channel can be effectively suppressed. The results show that after performing the optimal pre- and post-channel weak measurement, the negativity of the GHZ state can be effectively improved with a certain probability, and the phenomenon of sudden death can be delayed to a certain degree. This scheme can be applied to the decoherence suppression of GAD channel at finite temperature.

One of the crucial tasks in quantum systems is to reduce the effects of decoherence due to the unavoidable interactions between a system and its environment. Many protection schemes have been proposed recently, among them the weak measurement quantum measurement reversal (WMQMR), weak measurement-based quantum feedback control (QFBC) and quantum feedforward control (QFFC) are reviewed in this paper. By considering weak measurement, the aim is to find a balance between information gain and disturbance of the system caused by the measurement. We classify different types of measurement and give the definition of noise sources and their effects on the state of the system. Finally, we compare and analyze the performance of the discussed protection schemes for different noise sources by numerical simulations.

Entanglement protection from noisy environments is an essential task in practical quantum information and communication. In this paper, we investigate the entanglement recovery of an amplitude-damped tripartite GHZ state by a weak-measurement reversal procedure. In particular, we emphasize the key importance of the inequivalency of probability amplitudes of the tripartite system under the recovery technique. We explore the maximal and non-maximal tripartite entangled state scenarios under amplitude damping noise in the absence and presence of weak measurement reversal procedures. Importantly, the non-maximal entangled state turns out to be a good choice for the entanglement recovery via weak-measurement reversal procedure.

This study focuses on the impact of amplitude-damping noise, which diminishes the fidelity of the teleported quantum state on an existing cyclic quantum teleportation scheme [V. Verma, D. Yadav and D. K. Mishra, Opt. Quantum Electron. 53 (2021) 1]. The CQT scheme involves three participants performing a cyclic teleportation along with a controller to supervise the protocol. We also propose weak measurement and reversal measurement operations as potential solutions to combat the noise-induced decoherence and improve the fidelity of the existing CQT scheme. The simulation results showcase the improvements achieved in the fidelity calculation when implementing the potential solutions. The findings hold immense potential for quantum information communications in practical situations.

We naturally define the weak value on the basis of the probability theory in quantum mechanics. Furthermore, using this theory, we discuss the amplification process of a signal, and we have shown that there is no upper bound for the signal amplification.
