    A Bibliometric Analysis of the First Twenty-Five Years of the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems

    Since the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems published its first issue in 1993, it has made important contributions to the research field of computer science. In this study, based on the dataset of the publications published in this journal between 1993 and 2016 retrieved from Web of Science, a general overview of this journal is performed using bibliometric methods and visualized networks. First, the productive and influential publications, authors, institutions, countries/territories, and supraregions are analysed based on the total number of citations, publications, and different citation thresholds. Second, network visualization analysis is applied to illustrate the links and connections between terms by using the VOSviewer software. Moreover, the most cited journals and common author keywords of three continents, including North America, Europe, and Asia, are also presented. This paper will hopefully help researchers understand the research patterns of this journal.

    A Research Journey from National Systems of Innovation to National Systems of Entrepreneurship: Introducing the Sextuple Helix

    National systems of innovation (NSI) have attracted substantial interest from public administrations, the scientific community and international organizations. Innovation is a key factor for countries to be competitive in the today’s global economy. Entrepreneurship is an innovation source that has gained importance in NSI research over the last few decades. This focus on entrepreneurship in the context of NSI has led scholars to propose novel concepts such as entrepreneurial ecosystems and the national system of entrepreneurship (NSE). This paper uses bibliometric methods and the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC) database to explore how entrepreneurship fits into NSI research and to study the increasing importance of entrepreneurship within this research field. The NSI conceptual framework is developed according to the most common keywords, and the most influential NSI studies are identified using the total number of citations and the ratio number of citations per year. Two sets of studies are analyzed: (1) older documents on traditional topics such as the origins and evolution of NSIs, the capacity of countries to innovate, and the relationships of institutions, different organizational forms, networking, production and competence building with innovation and (2) newer entrepreneurship research documents. Based on analysis of the most common keywords, the most influential studies and multiple entrepreneurship approaches, we propose a Sextuple Helix model as an analytical framework that brings together innovation and entrepreneurship.

    Chapter 3: Is there a Need for “Open Service Innovation” Term: A Scientometrics Analysis of Open Service Innovation Research Domain

    Science by definition builds on previous knowledge and therefore the main goal of this study is to systematically evaluate the history and current status of the open service innovation (OSI) research by utilizing popularity-based and impact based scientometrics methods. The results grounded on ISI Web of Science (WoS), Scopus and Google Scholar data sources reveals that OSI research domain is still infancy and so far there are only handful authors and publications which have embraced the OSI term. However, the number of publications and authors focusing on open innovation (OI) in conjointly with services or service innovation (SI) is much greater. Albeit, there is a latent potential for OSI studies, but a need for a new OSI term remains questionable especially when interest towards OI and SI have recently leveled. A clear differences between WoS, Scopus and Google Scholar as a data source was identified. Therefore, the further studies focusing on innovation management execute triangulation in data source selection.
