Congratulations to Prof. Lihong Wang for being elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering (USA). Prof. Wang is Bren Professor of Medical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. He is elected "for inventions in photoacoustic microscopy enabling functional, metabolic, and molecular imaging in vivo." For more information, please refer to the NAE press release.

Editor-in-Chief Prof. Qingming Luo heads the new HUST-Suzhou Institute for Brainsmatics — a brain imaging hub that promises high-throughput, rapid brain mapping. The institute will receive funding of 450 million yuan (US$67 million) over five years and collaborators include the Allen Institute, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and Stanford University.
