Special Issue on Special Issue on Animal Coronavirus

Dear Colleagues,

Coronaviruses (CoV) are common contagious pathogens of humans and animals causing widespread costly diseases including severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and the novel viral pneumonia (officially called COVID-19). Thus, the viruses have again posed serious public health concerns. Animal coronaviruses include emerging and re-emerging PEDV, PDCoV, IBV, CCoV, FCoV, MHV and BCoV are also of importance in veterinary medicine. Therefore, development of effective therapeutics is a top priority to combat the threat of coronaviruses. An incomplete understanding of the biology of the coronaviruses is one of the reasons for inefficient treatment and disease control. Consequently, the main topic of this Special Issue is on the Biology of Coronaviruses and welcomes all types of manuscripts (e.g., reviews, research articles, and short communications) including novel findings with respect to molecular mechanisms of gene expression, pathogenicity, host-virus interaction, molecular epidemiology, treatment, vaccine development and coronavirus-related researches.
