The fast developing field of Regenerative Medicine has lead to a variety of new treatment concepts including stem cells, innovative bioactive materials and gene therapy. This has a significant impact across all medical disciplines today. It is increasingly difficult for both patients and medical specialists to stay ahead of recent advances in the field. Based on the success of the series Manuals in Biomedical Research and the demand from the clinical and patient community to continuously update them on recent developments the editor of the first book 'A Manual on Current Therapies in Regenerative Medicine' has decided to start an entire series dedicated to this specific topic. Dr. Schantz intends to bring out a new version of the Regenerative Medicine book every 2–3 years. It will always cover an up to date spectrum of clinical therapies in various medical specialties. Authors from previous Reg. Med. Books will only have a chance to contribute in the latest version if they have developed a novel therapeutic concept or if significant scientific breakthrough is achieved thus ensuring that different clinician-scientists have the opportunity to report about their innovative treatment regimes.
Dr. Schantz is a member of several clinical and scientific societies in the field and has established an innovative concept in bone regeneration. He has an extensive network in the field and has already an extensive list of clinicians who are willing to contribute to this new series.
