This paper considers the exponential decay of the solution to a damped semilinear wave equation with variable coefficients in the principal part by Riemannian multiplier method. A differential geometric condition that ensures the exponential decay is obtained.

In the seemingly unrelated regression systems, the existing quasi-likelihood is always involved in the difficult problem of calculating inverse of a high order matrix specially for large systems. To avoid this problem, the new quasi-likelihood proposed in this paper is based mainly on a linearly iterative process of some unbiased estimating functions. Some finite sample properties and asymptotic behaviours for this new quasi-likelihood are investigated. These results show that the new quasi-likelihood for parameter of interest is E-sufficient, iteratively efficient and approximately efficient. Some examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results.

The Ribaucour transformations for flat Lagrangian submanifolds in Cⁿ and CPⁿ via loop group actions are given. As a consequence, the authors obtain a family of new flat Lagrangian submanifolds from a given one via a purely algebraic algorithm. At the same time, it is shown that such Ribaucour transformation always comes with a permutability formula.

This paper undertakes a systematic treatment of the low regularity local well-posedness and ill-posedness theory in H^s and Ḣ^s for semilinear wave equations with polynomial nonlinearity in u and ∂u. This ill-posed result concerns the focusing type equations with nonlinearity on u and ∂_tu.

This paper studies the asymptotic behaviour of steady supersonic flow past a piecewise smooth corner or bend. Under the hypothese that both vertex angle and the total variation of tangent along the boundary are small, it is shown that the solution can be obtained by a modified Glimm scheme, and that the asymptotic behaviour of the solution is determined by the velocity of incoming flow and the limit of the tangent of the boundary at infinity.

By means of a nonstandard estimation about the energy functional, the authors prove the existence of a global attractor for an abstract nonlinear evolution equation. As an application, the existence of a global attractor for some nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations with some distribution derivatives in inhomogeneous terms is obtained.

The output signal-to-interference (SIR) of conventional matched filter receiver in random environment is considered. When the number of users and the spreading factors tend to infinity with their ratio fixed, the convergence of SIR is showed to be with probability one under finite fourth moment of the spreading sequences. The asymptotic distribution of the SIR is also obtained.

This paper proves that any rotationally symmetric translating soliton of mean curvature flow in R³ is strictly convex if it is not a plane and it intersects its symmetric axis at one point. The authors also study the symmetry of any translating soliton of mean curvature flow in Rⁿ.

In this paper, some properties of mixed intersection bodies are given, and inequalities from the dual Brunn-Minkowski theory (such as the dual Minkowski inequality, the dual Aleksandrov-Fenchel inequalities and the dual Brunn-Minkowski inequalities) are established for mixed intersection bodies.

This paper explores the diffeomorphism of a backward stochastic ordinary differential equation (BSDE) to a system of semi-linear backward stochastic partial differential equations (BSPDEs), under the inverse of a stochastic flow generated by an ordinary stochastic differential equation (SDE). The author develops a new approach to BSPDEs and also provides some new results. The adapted solution of BSPDEs in terms of those of SDEs and BSDEs is constructed. This brings a new insight on BSPDEs, and leads to a probabilistic approach. As a consequence, the existence, uniqueness, and regularity results are obtained for the (classical, Sobolev, and distributional) solution of BSPDEs. The dimension of the space variable x is allowed to be arbitrary n, and BSPDEs are allowed to be nonlinear in both unknown variables, which implies that the BSPDEs may be nonlinear in the gradient. Due to the limitation of space, however, this paper concerns only classical solution of BSPDEs under some more restricted assumptions.

By using dressing actions of the -system, the authors study geometric transformations for flat time-like n-submanifolds with flat, non-degenerate normal bundle in anti-de Sitter space , where .

For the Generalized Linear Model (GLM), under some conditions including that the specification of the expectation is correct, it is shown that the Quasi Maximum Likelihood Estimate (QMLE) of the parameter-vector is asymptotic normal. It is also shown that the asymptotic covariance matrix of the QMLE reaches its minimum (in the positive-definte sense) in case that the specification of the covariance matrix is correct.

A general monotonization method is proposed for converting a constrained programming problem with non-monotone objective function and monotone constraint functions into a monotone programming problem. An equivalent monotone programming problem with only inequality constraints is obtained via this monotonization method. Then the existing convexification and concavefication methods can be used to convert the monotone programming problem into an equivalent better-structured optimization problem.
