Cooper (1986) examines the equilibrium of the retroactive most-favored-customer pricing policy by using a two-period duopoly model. He shows that the most-favored-customer policy enables both firms to offer higher prices and to enjoy higher profits. Neilson and Winter (1992) show that even if one firm in a price-setting duopoly adopts the most-favored-customer policy, the equilibrium does not coincide with the Stackelberg solution. This paper introduces a pricing policy by using a one-period two-stage model and shows that if one firm in a price-setting duopoly adopts this policy, then the equilibrium coincides with the Stackelberg solution.

This paper investigates the suitability of new apportionment methods based on the idea of preserving the coalition function of the simple game generated by the populations of the states of some country. The new methods fill a gap in the literature concerning apportionment methods based on winning coalitions. The main results in this paper show that the new apportionment methods do not satisfy desirable properties such as house monotonicity, quota, etc.

We investigate a simple motion pursuit-evasion differential game of one Pursuer and one Evader. Maximal speeds of the players are equal. The Evader moves along a given curve without self-intersection. There is no phase constraint for the Pursuer. Necessary and sufficient conditions to complete pursuit from both fixed initial position and all initial positions are obtained.

We consider pursuit and evasion differential game problems described by an infinite system of differential equations with countably many Pursuers in Hilbert space. Integral constraints are imposed on the controls of players. In this paper an attempt has been made to solve an evasion problem under the condition that the total resource of the Pursuers is less then that of the Evader and a pursuit problem when the total resource of the Pursuers greater than that of the Evader. The strategy of the Evader is constructed.

The relationship between coalition-proof (Nash) equilibria in a normal-form game and those in its subgame is examined. A subgame of a normal-form game is a game in which the strategy sets of all players in the subgame are subsets of those in the normal-form game. In this paper, focusing on a class of aggregative games, we provide a sufficient condition for the aggregative game under which every coalition-proof equilibrium in a subgame is also coalition-proof in the original normal-form game. The stringency of the sufficient condition means that a coalition-proof equilibrium in a subgame is rarely a coalition-proof equilibrium in the whole game.

In this paper we propose an extension of the core of NTU games from its domain to a larger set of games satisfying a few conditions of well-behavedness. The solution concept is a rather straightforward generalization of the extended core of TU games introduced by Gomez [2003] and is shown to have similar properties. Also, a set of axioms for solutions of NTU games is presented which characterizes the extended core.

In this paper the problem of allocation over time of total cost incurred by coalitions of countries in a coalitional game of pollution reduction is considered. The Nash equilibrium in the game played by coalitions is computed and then the value of each coalition is allocated according to some given mechanism between its members.

We consider a von Neumann–Morgenstern market game and present a simple expression for the Shapley value via decomposition as the difference of an airport game and an extended airport game. The resulting formula has a useful interpretation for designing an allocation procedure among the agents.
