Nuclear reactors provide an excellent environment for studying neutrinos and continue to play a critical role in unveiling the secrets of these elusive particles. A rich experimental program with reactor antineutrinos is currently ongoing, and leads the way in precision measurements of several oscillation parameters and in searching for new physics, such as the existence of light sterile neutrinos. Ongoing experiments have also been able to measure the flux and spectral shape of reactor antineutrinos with unprecedented statistics and as a function of core fuel evolution, uncovering anomalies that will lead to new physics and/or to an improved understanding of antineutrino emission from nuclear reactors. The future looks bright, with an aggressive program of next generation reactor neutrino experiments that will go after some of the biggest open questions in the field. This includes the JUNO experiment, the largest liquid scintillator detector ever constructed which will push the limits of this detection technology.

Double beta decay is a key process to reveal a fundamental property of neutrinos. If neutrinos are Majorana particles, that is they are equivalent to their antiparticles, neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu \beta \beta$) decay, $(A,Z)\to (A,Z+2)+2e^{-}$, would occur. The process is beyond the standard model and would lead to a scenario which can explain the extremely small masses of neutrinos and provide a solution to the current matter dominance of the world. In this talk experimental efforts searching for $0\nu \beta \beta$ decays are presented. Then, major $0\nu \beta \beta$ experiments together with searches using ${}^{136}$Xe nuclei are described, followed by the current status of the KamLAND-Zen experiment.

Cross sections of nuclear reactions relevant for astrophysics are crucial ingredients to understand the energy generation inside stars and the synthesis of the elements. At astrophysical energies, nuclear cross sections are often too small to be measured in laboratories on the Earth surface, where the signal would be overwhelmed by the cosmic-ray induced background.

LUNA is a unique Nuclear Astrophysics experiment located at Gran Sasso National Laboratories. The extremely low background achieved at LUNA allows to measure nuclear cross sections directly at the energies of astrophysical interest. Over the years, many crucial reactions involved in stellar hydrogen burning as well as Big Bang nucleosynthesis have been measured at LUNA.

The present contribution provides an overview on underground Nuclear Astrophysics as well as the latest results and future perspectives of the LUNA experiment.

Some of the currently most popular conjectures for the structure of the recently discovered heavy mesons that do not find a place in the quark model quarkonium spectrum are sketched. Furthermore, some observables are identified that should allow one to identify the most prominent components of individual states.

Since the invention of the quark model in 1964 hadrons are formed from a quark-antiquark pair called mesons or three quarks called baryons. However, QCD-motivated models for hadrons predict more complex structures on the hadrons components called generically exotics. These include tetraquark, pentaquark, the six-quark H-dibaryon, hybrid, and glueball mesons. Exotic hadrons have been systematically searched for in many experiments and studied in theories. In the past decade, lots of new hadrons that cannot fit into the normal mesons or baryons were discovered, the so-called $XYZ$ states. Even so, no unambiguous candidates for any of those exotic configurations have been identified. This review presents an overview of the remarkable progress in the field of exotic hadrons over the past few years.

New and recent results on Supersymmetry searches are shown for the ATLAS and the CMS experiments. Analyses with about 36 fb${}^{-1}$ are considered for searches concerning light squarks and gluinos, direct pair production of 3${}^{rd}$ generation squarks, electroweak production of charginos, neutralinos, sleptons, R-parity violating scenarios and long-lived particles.

The detector systems for particle physics experiment at the future high-energy and high-luminosity colliders will need to improve resolution, radiation hardness, and rate capability with respect to the current generation of experiments. Many promising technological solutions are being developed for both tracking detectors and calorimeters.

A brief overview of the technology applications with significant societal benefit that have their origins in nuclear and particle physics research is presented. It is shown through representative examples that applications of nuclear physics can be classified into two basic areas: 1) applying the results of experimental nuclear physics and 2) applying the tools of experimental nuclear physics. Examples of the application of the tools of experimental nuclear and particle physics research are provided in the fields of accelerator and detector based technologies namely synchrotron light sources, nuclear medicine, ion implantation and radiation therapy.

The Beam Energy Scan Phase II at RHIC, BES-II, is scheduled from year 2019 to 2020 and will explore the high baryon density region of the QCD phase diagram with high precision. The program will focus on the interesting energy region determined from the results of BES-I. Some of the key measurements anticipated are the chiral symmetry restoration and QGP thermal radiation in the dilepton and direct photon channels. The measurements will be possible with an order of magnitude better statistics provided by the electron cooling upgrade of RHIC and with the detector upgrades planned to extend STAR experimental reach. The upgrades are: the inner Time Projection Chamber sectors (iTPC), the Event Plane Detector (EPD), and the end-cap Time of Flight (eTOF). We present the BES-II program details and the physics opportunities in the dilepton and direct photon channels enabled by the upgrades.

The chiral magnetic effect (CME) refers to charge separation along a strong magnetic field of single-handed quarks, caused by interactions with topological gluon fields from QCD vacuum fluctuations. A major background of CME measurements in heavy-ion collisions comes from resonance decays coupled with elliptical flow anisotropy. These proceedings present two new studies from STAR to shed further light on the background issue: (1) small system p+Au and d+Au collisions where the CME signal is not expected, and (2) pair invariant mass dependence where resonance peaks can be identified.

One of the primary goals of the spin physics program at STAR is to constrain the polarized gluon distribution function, $\mathrm{\Delta }g(x)$, by measuring the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry (${\mathit{\text{A}}}_{LL}$) of various final-state channels. Using a jet in the mid-rapidity region $\left|\eta \right|<0.9$ correlated with an azimuthally back-to-back ${\pi }^0$ in the forward rapidity region $0.8<\eta <2.0$ provides a new possibility to access the $\mathrm{\Delta }g(x)$ distribution at Bjorken-$\mathit{\text{x}}$ down to 0.01. Compared to inclusive jet or inclusive ${\pi }^0$ measurements, this channel also allows to constrain the initial parton kinematics. In these proceedings, we will present the status of the analysis of the ${\pi }^0$-jet ${\mathit{\text{A}}}_{LL}$ in longitudinally polarized proton+proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ =510 GeV with 80 pb${}^{-1}$ of data taken during the 2012 RHIC run. We also compare the projected ${\mathit{\text{A}}}_{LL}$ uncertainties to theoretical predictions of the ${\mathit{\text{A}}}_{LL}$ by next-to-leading order (NLO) model calculations with different polarized parton distribution functions.

A significant excess of $J/\psi$ yield at very low transverse momentum ($p_T<0.3$ GeV/c) has been observed by the ALICE Collaboration in peripheral Pb+Pb collisions, which points to evidence of coherent photoproduction of $J/\psi$ in violent hadronic interactions. The survival of photoproduced $J/\psi$ merits more experimental investigations. In this article, we report on the STAR measurements of $J/\psi$ production at very low transverse momenta ($p_T$) in hadronic Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}$ = 200 GeV and U+U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}$ = 193 GeV at mid-rapidity. Centrality dependence of $J/\psi$ yields and nuclear modification factors at very low $p_T$ are presented.

We present the first measurements of $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ pair production at very low transverse momentum ($p_T<$ 0.15 GeV/$c$) in Au + Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV and U + U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 193 GeV using the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. A significant excess, with respect to known hadronic contributions, is observed in 60-80% central heavy-ion collisions over the whole $M_{ee}$ range. Remarkably, the excess almost entirely happens below $p_T\approx$ 0.15 GeV/$c$, and can not be explained by a theoretical model calculation incorporating in-medium broadened $\rho$ spectral function. Moreover, the observed excess yield has no significant centrality dependence. In addition, the steepness of $p_T^2$ distribution exhibits mild invariant mass and collision species dependence.

In these proceedings, we present measurements of open bottom hadron production through multiple decay channels in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{{}_{\mathrm{\text{NN}}}}}$ = 200 GeV by the STAR experiment. Namely, measurements of nuclear modification factors for electrons, $\mathrm{\text{J}}/\psi$, and ${\mathrm{\text{D}}}^0$ from open bottom hadron decays are shown. The decay products are topologically identified utilizing the Heavy Flavor Tracker, a silicon vertex detector installed at STAR during the period of 2014 - 2016. It enables precise reconstruction of displaced decay vertices. The results show large suppression for non-prompt $\mathrm{\text{J}}/\psi$ and non-prompt ${\mathrm{\text{D}}}^0$ at high transverse momenta, and indicate less suppression for electrons from bottom hadron decays than for those from charm hadron decays at $\sim 2\sigma$ significance level.

We present the measurements of $J/\psi$ production at mid-rapidity via the di-muon decay channel in p+p and p+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{{}_{\mathrm{\text{NN}}}}}$ = 200 GeV by the STAR experiment at RHIC. In p+p collisions, the measured inclusive $J/\psi$ cross section can be qualitatively described by model calculations. The $J/\psi$ polarization parameters, ${\lambda }_{𝜃}$, ${\lambda }_{\varphi }$ as well as the frame-invariant quantity ${\lambda }_{inv}$, are presented as a function of transverse momentum in both the helicity and Collins-Soper frames. No significant polarization is observed. In addition, the nuclear modification factor for inclusive J/$\psi$ in p+Au collisions is similar to that measured in d+Au collisions and favors an additional nuclear absorption effect on top of the nuclear PDF effect.

Short-lived resonances have long been recognized as good probes to investigate the late-stage evolution of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. More recently, resonances with different masses and quark composition have provided valuable contributions to the understanding of strangeness production, in particular for the observed multiplicity-dependent enhancement in small systems. In this light, a comprehensive review is presented of the most recent ALICE results on $\rho {(770)}^0$, $K^{\ast }{(892)}^0$, $\varphi (1020)$, $\mathrm{\Sigma }{(1385)}^{\pm }$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }(1520)$ and $\mathrm{\Xi }{(1530)}^0$ production in pp, p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at various collision energies at the LHC, including results from the latest Pb–Pb run at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{\text{NN}}}}$ = 5.02 TeV.

The main goal of heavy-ion physics is to study the properties of the deconfined state of matter known as the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. A systematic study of strangeness production is of fundamental importance for determining the thermal properties of the system created in such collisions. In the central barrel of the ALICE detector, K${}_s^0$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }$, $\mathrm{\Xi }$ and $\mathrm{\Omega }$ can be identified reconstructing their weak decay topology. It will be shown that the relative production (to pions) of strange particles follows a continuous increasing trend from low multiplicity pp to peripheral Pb–Pb collisions, above which a saturation is visible for central Pb–Pb collisions. This increasing trend is similar for pp and p–Pb collisions. Moreover, comparison of strange particle production in pp collisions at two different energies ($\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and 13 TeV) will be used to demonstrate that the observed trend in multiplicity is also energy independent.

Heavy-flavour hadrons are effective probes to study the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) formed in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The ALICE Collaboration measured the D-mesons (D⁰, D${}^{+}$, D*${}^{+}$ and D${}_{\mathrm{\text{s}}}^{+}$) production in Pb–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{\text{NN}}}}$ = 5.02 TeV. The in-medium energy loss can be studied by means of the nuclear modification factor ($R_{\mathrm{\text{AA}}}$). The comparison between the D${}_{\mathrm{\text{s}}}^{+}$ and the non-strange D-meson $R_{\mathrm{\text{AA}}}$ can help to study the hadronisation mechanism of the charm quark in the QGP. In semi-central collisions the measurement of the D-meson elliptic flow, $v_2$, at low $p_{\mathrm{\text{T}}}$ allows to investigate the participation of the heavy quarks in the collective expansion of the system while at high $p_{\mathrm{\text{T}}}$ it constrains the path-length dependence of the energy loss. Furthermore the Event-Shape Engineering (ESE) technique is used to measure D-meson elliptic flow in order to study the coupling of the charm quarks to the light quarks of the underlying medium.

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN allows us to study heavy-ion collisions at an un- precedented energy. ALICE, A Large Ion Collider Experiment, is the experiment ded- icated to the investigation of heavy-ion collisions. In this contribution, recent open heavy-flavour results from pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$= 5.02, 7, 8 and 13 TeV and p–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{\text{NN}}}}$ = 5.02 TeV, collected with the ALICE detector during the LHC Run-1 and Run-2 are presented. The results include the production cross section, nuclear modification factor and multiplicity dependence studies of production of D mesons and electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity and of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity. Charm production was measured down to $p_{\mathrm{\text{T}}}$ = 0 GeV/$c$ in pp and p–Pb collisions. Recent measurements of the production cross section of heavy charmed baryons such as ${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c$ (in pp and p–Pb) and ${\mathrm{\Xi }}_c$ (in pp) are discussed. The results are compared with theoretical model predictions.

Jets constitute a golden probe to study the quark gluon plasma produced in heavy ion collisions at the LHC. Being produced at the early stages of the collisions, they are expected to be modified as propagating through the hot and dense medium. A signature of the modification is the energy loss lowering the jet yields at a given transverse momentum. A factor of two suppression is observed in central Pb+Pb collisions with respect to $pp$ collisions. Other signatures are the modification of the dijet momentum balance and the modification of fragmentation functions. These proceedings describe results on these observables from ATLAS in Runs 1 and 2. The high statistical significance of these data samples collected by ATLAS allows precision measurements of these observables in a wide range of transverse momentum and centrality.

In this work, we present a systematic study on the feasibility of probing the largely unexplored gluon Sivers function (GSF) based on the open charm production, charged dihadron and dijet method at a future high energy, high luminosity Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). Sivers function describes the anisotropy of parton distributions inside a transversely polarized nucleon in the momentum space and provides us a complete picture of the 2+1D structure of the nucleons. It is proposed that the GSF can be studied through the single spin asymmetry (SSA) measurement in the photon-gluon fusion channel with electron proton collisions at the EIC. Using a well tuned Monte Carlo model for deep inelastic scatterings, we estimate the possible constraints of the gluon Sivers effect one can draw from the future EIC data. Comparisons of all the possible measurements further illustrate that the dijet method is the most promising way to demonstrate the presence of GSF and pin down its evolution effect.

BESIII has collected $1.3\times 10^{8}J/\psi$ and $0.4\times 10^8$ of ${\psi }^{\prime }$, which are the world’s largest data samples of $J/\psi$ and ${\psi }^{\prime }$ from $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ collision. Radiative decays of charmonium provide a gluon-rich environment and are therefore regarded as one of the most promising hunting grounds for gluonic excitations. Significant progresses in the light-quark sector have been made with the unprecedented high statistics data sets. Several recent results on light hadron spectroscopy and light hadron decays will be reported, including: 1, the observation of the anomalous line shape of $X(1835)$ near $p\bar{p}$ mass threshold and related studies; 2, studies of glueballs in $J/\psi$ radiative decays; 3, search for $1^{-+}$ exotic in ${\chi }_{c1}\to \eta \pi \pi$.

The data sample of $1.3\times 10^9$ $J/\psi$ events accumulated at BESIII provides us with a clean environment to study the decay of the ${\eta }^{\prime }$. In this proceeding, several recent results are reported, including the observation of the doubly radiative decay ${\eta }^{\prime }\to \gamma \gamma {\pi }^0$, amplitude analysis of the decays ${\eta }^{\prime }\to {\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}{\pi }^0$ and ${\pi }^0{\pi }^0{\pi }^0$, the observation of the Dalitz decay ${\eta }^{\prime }\to \gamma e^{+}{e}^{-}$, and search for the weak decay ${\eta }^{\prime }\to K^{\pm }{\pi }^{\mp }$.

The BESIII experiment have collected about 9 $\mathrm{\text{f}}{b}^{-1}$ luminosity data samples above 3.8 GeV. Recent result on the XYZ states, which are also called exotic states, from BESIII experiment is presented in this talk, including the measurement of resonance parameters of vector $Y$ states, the establishment of two isospin triplets of $Z_c$ states, and the determination of spin-parity of $Z_c^{\pm }(3900)$.

The BESIII Experiment at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII) has accumulated the largest $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ collisions data sets in the $\tau$-charm region in the world. Using the data sets of 448.1 million $\psi (3686)$ events and 1.3 billion $J/\psi$ events, the branching fractions and the angular distributions of $J/\psi$ and $\psi (3686)$ decay to $\mathrm{\Lambda }\bar{\mathrm{\Lambda }}$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^0{\bar{\mathrm{\Sigma }}}^0$, $\mathrm{\Sigma }{(1385)}^0\bar{\mathrm{\Sigma }}{(1385)}^0$ and ${\mathrm{\Xi }}^0{\bar{\mathrm{\Xi }}}^0$ are measured. The branching fractions of $\psi (3686)\to \gamma {\chi }_{cJ}$ are reported with improved precision. The higher-order multipole amplitudes in $\psi (3686)\to \gamma {\chi }_{c1,2}$ with ${\chi }_{c1,2}\to \gamma J/\psi$ are measured, as a byproduct the ${\eta }_c(2S)\to \gamma J/\psi$ transition is searched. The Dalitz decays of $\psi (3686)\to e^{+}{e}^{-}{\chi }_{cJ}$ and ${\chi }_{cJ}\to e^{+}{e}^{-}J/\psi$ are observed and the branching fractions are measured. $h_c$ radiative decays $h_c\to \gamma {\eta }^{\prime }(\eta )$ are observed for the first time. Improved measurement of ${\eta }_c\to \varphi \varphi$ and search for ${\eta }_c\to \omega \varphi$ are reported.

The anomalous part of the magnetic moment of the muon, (g-2)${}_{\mu }$, allows for one of the most precise tests of the Standard Model of particle physics. We report on recent results by the BESIII Collaboration of exclusive hadronic cross section channels, such as the 2$\pi$, 3$\pi$, and 4$\pi$ final states. These measurements are of utmost importance for an improved calculation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution of (g-2)${}_{\mu }$, which currenty is limiting the overall Standard Model prediction of this quantity. BESIII has furthermore also intiatated a programme of spacelike transition form factor measurements, which can be used for a determination of the hadronic light-by-light contribution of (g-2)${}_{\mu }$ in a data-driven approach. These results are of relevance in view of the new and direct measurements of (g-2)${}_{\mu }$ as foreseen at Fermilab/USA and J-PARC/Japan.

Form factors of hadron provide fundamental information about its structure and dynamics. They constitute a rigorous test of non-perturbative QCD as well as of phenomenological models. Based on data samples collected with BESIII detector at BEPCII collider, born cross section of $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to p\bar{p}$ and proton effective form factors are measured at 12 center-of-mass energies between 2.2324 and 3.671 GeV. The ratio $|G_E/G_M|$s are extracted by fitting polar angle distribution of proton for data samples with large statistics. For data between 3.773 and 4.6 GeV, we use initial state radiation (ISR) method to study $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to p\bar{p}$ by tagged or un-tagged ISR photon, where the pair cross section, effective form factors and $|G_E/G_M|$s are obtained from proton pair threshold to about 3 GeV. For $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to \mathrm{\Lambda }\bar{\mathrm{\Lambda }}$ and $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c^{+}{\bar{\mathrm{\Lambda }}}_c^{-}$, the pair cross section and $\mathrm{\Lambda }/{\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c$ form factors are measured near threshold. With data scanned in 2015 from 2-3.08 GeV, charged Kaon pair cross section and form factors are measured at 21 center-of-mass energies.

The most recent results from the KLOE experiment are presented, covering: the measurement of the running fine-structure constant ${\alpha }_{em}$, the Dalitz plot measurement of $\eta \to {\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}{\pi }^0$, the search of a U boson, tests of discrete symmetries and quantum coherence. The KLOE-2 Collaboration will take data until mid 2018 aiming to collect 5 fb¹ increasing the data set, in order to produce new precision measurements and continue studies of fundamental symmetries and New Physics.

GlueX at Jefferson Lab aims to study the light meson spectrum with an emphasis on the search for light hybrid mesons. To this end, a linearly-polarized $9$GeV photon beam impinges on a hydrogen target contained within a hermetic detector with near-complete neutral and charged particle coverage. In 2016, the experiment completed its commissioning and subsequently started to take data in its design configuration. With the size of the data set so far, GlueX already exceeds previous experiments for polarized photoproduction in this energy regime. A selection of early results will be presented, focusing on beam asymmetries for pseudo-scalar and vector mesons. The potential to make significant contributions to the field of light-meson spectroscopy is highlighted by the observation of several known meson resonances. Furthermore, the strategy to map the light meson spectrum with amplitude analysis tools will be outlined.

The high-energy photoproduction of light-quark pseudoscalar and scalar mesons is an effective tool for understanding the properties of strong interaction in the nonperturbative regime. It has been investigated theoretically using Regge-cut phenomenology with massive quasi-particle exchange in the high-energy regime, and the linearly polarized photon beam asymmetry $\mathrm{\Sigma }$ can provide insight into the dominant production mechanism. In the low-energy region, it can provide constraints on ”background” to baryon resonance extraction. With an almost 50-year history, intensive experiments on meson photoproduction are growing vigorously at several international laboratories, such as JLab, ELSA, and MAMI. Recently the beam asymmetry $\mathrm{\Sigma }$ in high-energy ${\pi }^0/\eta$ photoproduction has been measured at GlueX, which is the first measurement both from the GlueX experiment and the 12 GeV upgraded JLab. The highest precision measurement of the ${\pi }^0$ asymmetry and the first measurement of $\eta$ beam asymmetry at a beam energy above 3 GeV are presented. A broad meson photoproduction project, including scalar meson $a_0(980)/f_0(980)$, is under way at GlueX. In the proceedings, we report the beam asymmetry results for ${\pi }^0/\eta$ photoproduction at GlueX, as well as preliminary results for scalar meson photoproduction in the ${\pi }^0{\pi }^0$ and ${\pi }^0\eta$ channels.

Recent results on heavy flavour spectroscopy with data collected by the LHCb detector are highlighted, including studies of exotic hadrons, the observation of five ${\mathrm{\Omega }}_c^0$ resonances, and the observation of the ${\mathrm{\Xi }}_{cc}^{++}$ baryon.

The differential cross-section data from the CLAS Collaboration for $\gamma p\to K^{\ast +}\mathrm{\Lambda }$ have been analyzed based on an effective Lagrangian approach. The $t$-channel $K$, $\kappa$, $K^{\ast }$ exchanges, the $s$-channel $N$ and near-threshold $N\ast$’s exchanges, the $u$-channel $\mathrm{\Lambda }$, $\mathrm{\Sigma }$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{\ast }(1385)$ exchanges, and the generalized contact term are considered in constructing the reaction amplitude. It is found that by including the $N(2060){5/2}^{-}$ resonance, which is responsible for the shape of the angular distribution of $\gamma p\to K^{\ast +}\mathrm{\Lambda }$ near the $K^{\ast }\mathrm{\Lambda }$ threshold, and one of the $N(2000){5/2}^{+}$, $N(2040){3/2}^{+}$, $N(2100){1/2}^{+}$, $N(2120){3/2}^{-}$ and $N(2190){7/2}^{-}$ resonances, one can describe the cross-section data for this reaction reasonably well. More experimental data on spin observables are needed to further pin down the resonance contents and associated resonance parameters in this reaction.

Several new findings in the four, five and six quark systems reheat the interest in the field of multiquark states (beyond the trivial $q\bar{q}$ and $qqq$). A lot of progress has recently been made in the 6q sector, on both the theoretical and experimental side. A resonance like structure observed in double-pionic fusion to the deuteron, at M = 2.38 GeV with $\mathrm{\Gamma }$ = 70 MeV and $I(J^P)=0(3^{+})$ has been consistently observed in a wealth of reaction channels, supporting the existence of a resonant dibaryon state - the $d^{\ast }(2380)$. These studies include measurement of all the principle strong decay channels in pn collisions in the quasifree mode by the WASA-at-COSY and HADES collaborations. The internal structure of the $d^{\ast }(2380)$ is largely unknown. It can contain various ”hidden color” 6q configurations, $\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{\Delta }$ molecular states with angular momentum L = 0,2,4,6 as well as meson-assisted dressed dibaryon structures. The large set of experimental data obtained to date gives some constraints on the internal structure of the $d^{\ast }(2380)$ dibaryon, but does not settle the issue. The $d^{\ast }$ is the only multiquark state which can be produced copiously at current facilities, offering unique access to information beyond its basic quantum numbers, particularly its physical size and internal structure.

Recent studies on the newly observed resonance $d^{\ast }(2380)(I(J^P)=0(3^{+}))$ with a compact structure in a chiral SU(3) constituent quark model are briefly reported. the overall properties, including the mass, the partial decay widths in various decay modes, and the total width, comparing with the experimental data, show that a compact hexaquark dominated structure might be a reasonable interpretation for this state. Moreover, the charge distribution of $d^{\ast }$ is also discussed.

Hadronic transitions are important decay modes of heavy quarkonia and serve as an elegant probe for the internal structure. Several remarkable discoveries have been made to identify the conventional heavy quarkonia and to extract useful information about the so called “XYZ” exotic states. We studied the hadronic transitions of higher charmonia in the framework of our recently proposed effective model to create light meson(s) in heavy quarkonium transitions. In this contribution, we discuss our results for the charmonium-$\eta$ decays of higher $S$ and $D$ wave vector charmonia. We also discuss quantum number ${(}^{2S+1}{L}_J)$ assignments for few experimentally observed charmoniumlike states.

In this contribution we present symmetry arguments that can be applied to study the stability of four-quark systems with two different masses. The role played by different symmetry breaking effects and the non-Abelian algebra of color forces is discussed in detail. In the particular case of hidden-flavor all-heavy four-quark states, $QQ\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$, the system becomes unstable for standard color-additive models. Differences and similarities between $Qq\bar{Q}\bar{q}$ and $QQ\bar{q}\bar{q}$ configurations are presented. In the latter case, its stability when the mass ratio $M/m$ increases was established almost forty years ago. In the former case, we find a kind of metastability between the lowest threshold, $(Q\bar{Q})-(q\bar{q})$ and the highest one, $(Q\bar{q})-(\bar{Q}q)$.

In this work, we study the properties of the heavy baryons with strangeness employing a constituent quark model in the hypercentral approach. The potential model considers the interactions arising the one-gluon exchange, Goldstone boson exchange and confinement, aspects of underlying theory, quantum chromodynamics (QCD). By solving three-body Schrodinger equation of baryonic system, we obtain the ground as well as the corresponding energy eigenvalues of the system. Using the obtained energies, we calculate the baryon spectrum. We extend our scheme to predict the radiative decay width of the charm baryons. A comparison of our results with those of other works and experimental data is also presented.

The NOvA experiment is a long-baseline accelerator-based neutrino oscillation experiment. It uses the upgraded NuMI beam from Fermilab to measure electron-neutrino appearance and muon-neutrino disappearance between the Near Detector, located at Fermilab, and the Far Detector, located at Ash River, Minnesota. The NuMI beam has recently reached and surpassed the 700 kW power benchmark. NOvA’s primary physics goals include precision measurements of oscillation parameters, such as ${𝜃}_{23}$ and the atmospheric mass-squared splitting, along with probes of the mass hierarchy and of the CP violating phase. This talk will present the latest NOvA results, based on a neutrino beam exposure equivalent to $6.05\times 10^{20}$ protons-on-target.

The goal of the NEXT collaboration is the sensitive search of the neutrino-less double beta decay ($\beta {\beta }^{0\nu }$) of ${}^{136}$Xe at the LSC. After a successful R&D phase, a first large-scale prototype of a high-pressure gas-Xenon electroluminescent TPC (NEW) is being operated at LSC since 2016. NEW is a 10-kg radiopure detector meant to understand the relevant backgrounds for the $\beta {\beta }^{0\nu }$search and to perform a measurement of the two neutrino mode of the double beta decay ($\beta {\beta }^{2\nu }$). The first phase of the NEW physics program comprises the commissioning of the detector and the data taking with calibration sources. This phase has allowed to understand the detector capabilities in terms of energy resolution and event topology reconstruction. The operation of NEW is setting the grounds for the construction of the NEXT-100 detector: a TPC holding 100 kg of ${}^{136}$Xe and reaching a sensitivity to the $\beta {\beta }^{0\nu }$half-life of $6\times 10^{25}$ y after 3 years of data taking. The latest results of the NEW detector as well as the status of the NEXT-100 project are presented.

An observation of neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu \beta \beta$) decay would allow to shed light onto the nature of neutrinos. Gerda (GERmanium Detector Array) aims to discover this process in a background-free search using ${}^{76}$Ge. The experiment is located at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS) of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) in Italy. Bare, isotopically enriched, high purity germanium detectors are operated in liquid argon. Gerda follows a staged approach. In Phase II 35.6 kg of enriched germanium detectors are operated since December 2015. The application of active background rejection methods, such as a liquid argon scintillation light read-out and pulse shape discrimination of germanium detector signals, allows to reduce the background index to the intended level of $10^{-3}$ cts/(keV⋅kg⋅yr). No evidence for the $0\nu \beta \beta$ decay has been found in 23.2 kg⋅yr of Phase II data, and together with data from Phase I the up-to-date most stringent half-life limit for this process in ${}^{76}$Ge has been established, at a median sensitivity of 5.8⋅10${}^{25}$yr the 90% C.L. lower limit is 8.0⋅10${}^{25}$yr.

The Borexino experiment, located at Gran Sasso Laboratory in Italy, is operational since 2007. The unprecedented ultra-low background of the inner scintillating core has allowed to measure the fluxes of different components of the solar neutrino spectrum for the first time, as well as neutrino physical properties. In this work we present the recent results obtained with Borexino Phase-II data. Furthermore, we discuss the prospects for the SOX project, which will start at the beginning of 2018 and it will be able to test the long-standing issue of the existence of a sterile neutrino.

The OPERA experiment reached its main goal by proving the appearance of ${\nu }_{\tau }$ in the CNGS ${\nu }_{\mu }$ beam. Five ${\nu }_{\tau }$ candidates fulfilling the analysis defined in the proposal were detected with a S/B ratio of about ten allowing to reject the null hypothesis at 5.1$\sigma$. The search has been extended by loosening the selection criteria in order to obtain a statistically enhanced, lower purity, signal sample. One such interesting neutrino interaction with a double vertex topology having a high probability of being a ${\nu }_{\tau }$ interaction with charm production is reported. Based on the enlarged data sample the estimation of $\mathrm{\Delta }$$m_{23}^2$ in appearance mode is presented. The search for ${\nu }_e$ interactions has been extended over the full data set with a more than twofold increase in statistics with respect to published data. The analysis of the ${\nu }_{\mu }\to {\nu }_e$ channel is updated and the implications of the electron neutrino sample in the framework of the 3+1 neutrino model is discussed. An analysis of ${\nu }_{\mu }\to {\nu }_{\tau }$ interactions in the framework of the sterile neutrino model has also been performed. Finally, the results of the study of charged hadron multiplicity distributions is presented.

Large samples of charged kaon decays have been collected by the NA48/2 (2003-2004), the NA62-R${}_{\mathrm{\text{K}}}$ (2007) and the NA62 (2015) experiments at CERN SPS. This proceedings summarizes upper limits on heavy neutrino production measured by these experiments. The results from the 2015 data analysis at the NA62 experiment are preliminary.

Measurements of reactor antineutrino play an important role in the efforts at the frontier of the modern physics. The DANSS collaboration presents preliminary results of a one year run with a cubic meter solid state detector placed below 3.1 GW industrial light water reactor. The experiment is sensitive to sterile neutrino in the most interesting region of mixing parameter space. 2500 scintillation strips of the sensitive volume of the detector have multilayer passive shielding of copper, lead and borated polyethylene and active muon veto. Detector position below the reactor gives an advantage of overburden about 50 m of water equivalent providing factor of six in cosmic muon suppression and eliminating fast neutrons.The detector is placed on a vertically movable platform which allows to change the distance to the reactor core center in the range 10.7-12.7 m within a few minutes. The strips are read out individually by SiPMs and in groups of 50 by PMTs. 5000 inverse beta-decay events per day are collected in the fiducial volume, which is 78% of the whole detector, at the position closest to the reactor. Overburden, active veto and good segmentation of the detector result in an excellent signal to background ratio.

The talk is dedicated to the data analysis and preliminary results. The experiment status is also presented.

The fixed points for the dynamical system in the phase space have been calculated with dark matter in the $f(R)$ gravity models. The stability conditions of these fixed points are obtained in the ongoing accelerated phase of the universe, and the values of the Hubble parameter and Ricci scalar are obtained for various evolutionary stages of the universe. We present a range of some modifications of general relativistic action consistent with the $\mathrm{\Lambda }$CDM model. We elaborate upon the fact that the upcoming cosmological observations would further constrain the bounds on the possible forms of $f(R)$ with greater precision that could in turn constrain the search for dark matter in colliders.

Many models beyond the Standard Model, motivated by the recent astrophysical anomalies, predict a new type of weak-interacting degrees of freedom. Typical models include the possibility of the low-mass dark gauge bosons of a few GeV and thus making them accessible at the BESIII experiment running at the tau-charm region. The BESIII has recently searched such dark bosons in several decay modes using the high statistics data set collected at charmonium resonaces. This talk will summarize the recent BESIII results of these dark photon searches and related new physics studies.

Dark Matter elusiveness could be explained by speculating that it lives in a separate sector with respect to the Standard Model and that interacts with it only by means of messengers. The simplest model foresees just one messenger: a, possibly massive, vector boson given by a new U(1) symmetry. This mediator can faintly mix with the photon and, hence, interact with SM charged particles, seeing an effective charge equal to $𝜀e$, with $e$ SM charge. The PADME experiment, hosted at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, is designed to search for such kind of particle, looking for its production in $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ annihilations. Exploiting the DA$\mathrm{\Phi }$NE linac, the collaboration aims to collect $10^{13}$ positrons on target by the end of 2018, reaching a sensitivity of $\sim 10^{-3}$ for masses up to $23.7$Mev.

The IceCube Neutrino Observatory is a cubic kilometer detector located at the geographic South Pole. IceCube was designed to detect high-energy neutrinos from cosmic sources, and the DeepCore extension of IceCube enables the study of atmospheric neutrino interactions down to energies of a few GeV. IceCube has detected a diffuse flux of neutrinos in the energy range from 100 TeV to several PeV, the properties of which are inconsistent with an atmospheric origin, and has also published competitive limits on atmospheric neutrino oscillation parameters and other neutrino properties. This paper presents the latest results from IceCube and prospects for future upgrades and expansions of the detector.

The MAJORANA Collaboration has completed construction and is now operating an array of high purity Ge detectors searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay ($0\nu \beta \beta$) in ${}^{76}$Ge. The array, known as the MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR, is comprised of 44 kg of Ge detectors (30 kg enriched to 88% in ${}^{76}$Ge) installed in an ultra-low background compact shield at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota. The primary goal of the DEMONSTRATOR is to establish a low-background design that can be scaled to a next-generation tonne-scale experiment. This work reports initial background levels in the $0\nu \beta \beta$ region of interest. Also presented are recent physics results leveraging P-type point-contact detectors with sub-keV energy thresholds to search for physics beyond the Standard Model; first results from searches for bosonic dark matter, solar axions, Pauli exclusion principle violation, and electron decay have been published. Finally, this work discusses the proposed tonne-scale ${}^{76}$Ge $0\nu \beta \beta$ LEGEND experiment.

We discuss the importance of the three-nucleon isospin $T=3/2$ component in elastic neutron-deuteron scattering and in the deuteron breakup reaction. The contribution of this amplitude originates from charge-independence breaking of the nucleon-nucleon potential. We study the magnitude of that contribution to the elastic scattering and breakup observables, taking the Av18 nucleon-nucleon potential alone or combined with the Urbana IX three-nucleon force as well as the locally regularized chiral N⁴LO nucleon-nucleon potential alone or supplemented by the chiral N²LO three-nucleon force. We find that the isospin $T=3/2$ component is important for the breakup reaction and the proper treatment of charge-independence breaking in this case requires the inclusion of the ${}^1{S}_0$ state with isospin $T=3/2$. For neutron-deuteron elastic scattering the $T=3/2$ contributions are insignificant and charge-independence breaking can be accounted for by neglecting $T=3/2$ component and using the effective t-matrix generated with the so-called $“2/3-1/3^{″}$ rule.

Faddeev formalism is used to study the propagation of theoretical uncertainties from the two-nucleon force to three-nucleon scattering observables. Predictions are obtained with the One-Pion-Exchange Gaussian interaction, for which correlations between its parameters are known. Within the Monte Carlo approach we are able to estimate uncertainties of three-nucleon observables arising from the imprecise knowledge of the One-Pion-Exchange Gaussian potential parameters. We found that the uncertainties of this type are small for three-nucleon elastic scattering cross section at investigated here energies up to the nucleon laboratory energy of 200 MeV. They remain smaller than the dominant theoretical uncertainty arising from using various models of nucleon-nucleon interactions. We also compare the above-mentioned results with other types of theoretical uncertainties, that is with the ones stemming from order truncation errors and regulator dependencies, present in calculations based on the chiral interaction.

The mass of the Higgs boson is measured in the $H\to Z{Z}^{\ast }\to 4\ell$ and in the $H\to \gamma \gamma$ decay channels with $36.1$fb${}^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data from the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016. The measured value in the $H\to Z{Z}^{\ast }\to 4\ell$ channel is $m_H^{Z{Z}^{\ast }}=124.88\pm 0.37$GeV, while the measured value in the $H\to \gamma \gamma$ channel is $m_H^{\gamma \gamma }=125.11\pm 0.42$GeV. The two results have a compatibility of $0.4\sigma$. The combined measurement from a simultaneous fit to the invariant mass distributions in the two channels is $m_H=124.98\pm 0.28$GeV.

The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle and unique among the known quarks since it decays before forming hadronic bound states. This makes measurements of the top quark itself particularly interesting as one can access directly the properties of a bare quark. The latest measurements of these properties with the ATLAS detector are reported using data from 8 TeV and 13 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The latest measurements of the top quark mass using template methods, as well as others aiming to measure the mass in a well-defined scheme, are presented. In addition, measurements for the top quark decay width, top quark spin observables and $W$-boson helicity in events with top quark pairs ($t\bar{t}$) are presented and compared to the Standard Model predictions. The cross-section measurements of top quark pair production in association with a photon, $Z$- or $W$-boson are also reported and compared to the most accurate theoretical calculations. These measurements probe the top quark electroweak couplings. Limits on the rate of flavour-changing neutral current processes in the production or decay of the top quark are also shown.

Measurements of the Drell-Yan production of $W$ and $Z/{\gamma }^{\ast }$ bosons at the LHC provide a benchmark of our understanding of perturbative QCD and probe the proton structure in a unique way. The ATLAS collaboration has performed new measurements for $W^{+}$, $W^{-}$ and $Z/{\gamma }^{\ast }$ boson production, reaching unprecedented precision and strong constraints on parton distribution functions, in particular the strange quark density. Studying jet production in association with a vector boson, perturbative QCD predictions can be tested in a multi-scale environment. Once the QCD aspects of the vector boson production are understood, high precision measurements aim at the tests of the electroweak sector, such as measuring the $W$ boson mass.

Here, a selection of recent ATLAS measurements, as presented at the 21st Particles and Nuclei International Conference, in September 2017 in Beijing, China, is discussed.

Since Run-1 of the LHC, CMS has taken the opportunity to improve further particle reconstruction. A number of improvements were made to the hadronic tau reconstruction and identification algorithms. In particular, the reconstruction of the tau decay products leaving deposits in the electromagnetic calorimeter was improved to better model signal of ${\pi }^0$ from $\tau$ decays. This modification improves energy response and removes the tau footprint from isolation area. In addition to this, improvements were made to discriminators that combine isolation and tau lifetime variables, and the rejection of electrons misidentified as hadronic taus was improved using multivariate techniques. The results of these improvements using 13 TeV data at LHC Run-2 are presented and validation of tau identification using a variety of techniques has been highlighted.

The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider performed searches for heavy Higgs bosons, whose presence would establish the existance of new physics. Searches for charged and neutral Higgs bosons are carried out using 8 or 13 TeV data for various production modes and in many different final states. No deviations from Standard Model expectations are observed. Exclusions limits are set on the production cross section and on parameters in various benchmark models.

This document summarises recent ATLAS results for searches for third generation squarks using 36.1 ${\mathrm{\text{fb}}}^{-1}$ of LHC proton-proton collision data collected at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV. Despite the absence of experimental evidence, weak scale supersymmetry remains one of the best motivated and studied Standard Model extensions. Supersymmetry can naturally solve the Standard Model hierarchy problem by preventing a large fine-tuning in the Higgs sector: a typical natural SUSY spectrum contains light third generation squarks (stops and sbottoms). Both R-Parity conserving and R-Parity violating scenarios are considered. The searches involve final states including jets, missing transverse momentum, electrons or muons. Simplified models predicting pair production of third generation squarks have been excluded at 95% CL up to about one TeV in the most favourable scenarios.

Latest results of searches for heavy Higgs bosons in fermionic final states are presented using the CMS detector at the LHC. Results are based on pp collision data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 8 and 13 TeV which have been interpreted according to different extensions of the Standard Model such as MSSM, 2HDM, and NMSSM. These searches look for evidence of other scalar or pseudoscalar bosons, in addition to the observed SM-like 125 GeV Higgs boson, and set 95% confidence level upper limits in fermionic final states and benchmark models explored. The talk reviews briefly the major results obtained by the CMS Collaboration during Run I, and presents the most recent searches performed during Run II.

A strong follow up of a previous proposal (ICHEP, Valencia 2014) is made leading to the first experiment to observe the gravitational waves at the collision sites at the colliders such as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The amplitudes have been calculated with regard to the sensitivity of the detector. Compared with the standard model physics, it is shown to have a measurable impact on the particle motions and corresponds to ‘missing’ energy in form of the gravitational wave loss. This is unlike the cosmological detectors like BICEP2 etc. where the indirect B mode polarization on CMBR were masked by dust. In contrast, this experiment would be the first experiment where the energy-momentum tensor of the source can be controlled.

To test the Lorentz structure of the charged weak interaction, we study leptonic decays of tau lepton in the Belle experiment. We perform this test through the measurement of Michel parameters which appear in the differential decay widths of leptonic tau decays. In this paper, we discuss the preliminary results of the measurement of Michel parameters at Belle.

The sensitivity on the measurements of the angles of the CKM unitarity triangle, i.e. ${\varphi }_1$, ${\varphi }_2$ and ${\varphi }_3$, for Belle II experiment is presented in this letter, the CKM mechanism is expected to be tested at 1% level on Belle II.

With a total integrated luminosity of 50 ab${}^{-1}$ of data and improved performances at the Belle II detector, especially vertex resolution and particle identification, sensitivity estimations for $D^0$-${\bar{D}}^0$ mixing, $CP$ violation and time integrated $CP$ asymmetries measurements are presented. Prospects on charm rare decays and (semi-)leptonic decays are discussed. Besides, a new $D^0$ flavor-tagging technique, ROE method, is introduced.

Based on 2.93 fb${}^{-1}$ data taken at the center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the precise measurements of the decay constant $f_{D^{+}}$, the form factors of $D$ semileptonic decays $D^0\to K{(\pi )}^{-}{e}^{+}{\nu }_e$ and $D^{+}\to K^{-}{\pi }^{+}{e}^{+}{\nu }_e$, the Dalitz plot analysis of $D^{+}\to K_S^0{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^0$, the strong phase measurement in $D^0\to K^{-}{\pi }^{+}$ and the $D^0{\bar{D}}^0$ mixing parameter $y_{\mathrm{\text{CP}}}$.

In 2014 BESIII collected a data sample of 567 $p{b}^{-1}$ at $E_{cm}$ = 4.6 GeV, which is just above the ${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c^{+}$ pair production threshold. By analyzing this data sample, we have measured the absolute branching fractions for many decays of ${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c^{+}$ for the first time. These decays include the semileptonic decays of $\mathrm{\Lambda }{e}^{+}\nu$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }{\mu }^{+}\nu$, the hadronic decays of $p{K}_s$, $p{K}^{-}{\pi }^{+}$, $p{K}^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^0$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }{\pi }^{+}$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^0$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{+}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^0$, $p{K}_s{\pi }^0$, $\mathrm{\Lambda }{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}$, $p{K}_s{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^0{\pi }^{+}$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{+}{\pi }^0$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{+}\omega$, $p\varphi$, $p{K}^{+}{K}^{-}(\mathrm{\text{non}}-\varphi )$, $p{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}$, $n{K}_s\pi +$, ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}({\pi }^0)$ and inclusive decay $\mathrm{\Lambda }$ + anything. The decays of $p{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}$, $n{K}_s{\pi }^{+}$ and ${\mathrm{\Sigma }}^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^0$ are observed for the first time and the others are measured with significantly improved precision. These results are important to benefit the development of the related theories, and provide important inputs for both charmed baryons and $B$ physics.

Charged lepton flavor violating (CLFV) process is predicted to be out of experimental reach by the Standard Model of elementary particle physics (SM). However, many models of the new physics beyond the SM predicts that it is just below the current experimental limit. COMET searches for one of the CLFV process, mu-e conversion in a nuclear field, improving the sensitivity by a factor of approximately $10^2$ for Phase-I and $10^4$ for Phase-II experiment from a past experiment.

The most recent results on CP violation in $b$ hadrons obtained by the LHCb Collaboration with Run I and years 2015-2016 of Run II are reviewed. The different types of violation are covered by the studies presented in this paper.

LHCb continues to expand its world-leading sample of charmed hadrons collected during LHCs Run 1 (2010-2012) and Run 2 (2015-present). This sample is yielding some of the most stringent tests of the Standard Model understanding of charm physics. This includes precise measurements of the neutral D-meson mixing parameters and some of the most sensitive searches for direct and indirect CP violation in charm interactions.

NA62 is a fixed target experiment at CERN with the main goal of measuring the Branching Ratio of the decay $K^{+}\to {\pi }^{+}\nu \bar{\nu }$ at 10% precision level. It also searches for exotic particles such as invisible vector bosons or axion-like particles. First preliminary results of a subset of 2016 data sample are shown.

The ALPHA project at the CERN AD is testing fundamental symmetries between matter and antimatter using trapped antihydrogen atoms. The spectrum of the antihydrogen atom may be compared to ordinary hydrogen where it has been measured very precisely. CPT conservation, which underpins our current theoretical framework, requires equality of the masses and charges of matter and its antimatter partners, so antihydrogen spectroscopy presents a path to precision CPT tests.

I will discuss the techniques used by ALPHA to trap more than 8000 antihydrogen atoms in 2016, and interrogate them for 600s. The 1S-2S transition in antihydrogen has been observed for the first time, and it agrees with its hydrogen counterpart within an uncertainty of 400 kHz or 0.2 ppb. The charge of the antihydrogen atom has been bounded below $0.710^{-9}e$. A value of 1420.4 0.5MHz for the hyperfine splitting has been obtained from observation of the positron spin resonance spectrum.

In the Standard Model the electroweak coupling of the gauge bosons to leptons is independent of the lepton flavour. Semileptonic and rare decays of b quarks provide an ideal laboratory to test this property. Any violation of Lepton Flavour Universality would be a clear sign of physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work a review of the Lepton Flavour Universality tests performed using data collected by the LHCb experiment in 2011 and 2012 at a centre of mass energy of 7 and 8 TeV is presented.

The understanding of the low-energy strong interaction involving strangeness is a challenging topic due to resonances and predicted kaonic nuclear bound states. The K- nucleon interaction is strongly attractive at low energies verified in kaonic hydrogen studied in the SIDDHARTA experiment at the DA$\mathrm{\Phi }$NE electron-positron collider of LNF-INFN (Frascati/Italy). Hyperon resonances like the elusive $\mathrm{\Lambda }(1405)$ in the s-wave impose questions about its nature. According to theoretical studies it can be described as a dynamically generated resonance with two poles or a quasi-bound $\overline{\mathrm{\text{K}}}$N state, which could lead to kaonic nuclear bound states (e.g. K-pp). An insight in many open facets of the antikaon interactions can be provided by the AMADEUS experiment at DA$\mathrm{\Phi }$NE based on the analysis of the data collected in 2004/2005 by the KLOE collaboration, and of the dedicated data set collected in 2012 by AMADEUS in collaboration with KLOE. As a first step data from antikaon-induced reactions in the drift chamber of KLOE were analyzed and yielded new results on antikaon absorption on nuclei. Recent results of the experimental studies and an outlook to the future possibilities within AMADEUS are presented.

The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider is a major upgrade of the KEK “B factory” facility in Tsukuba, Japan. The machine is designed for an instantaneous luminosity of $8\times 10^{35}{\mathrm{\text{cm}}}^{-2}{\mathrm{\text{s}}}^{-1}$, and the experiment is expected to accumulate a data sample of about 50 ab${}^{-1}$. With this amount of data, decays sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model can be studied with unprecedented precision. One promising set of modes are physics processes with missing energy such as $B^{+}\to {\tau }^{+}\nu$, $B\to D^{(\ast )}\tau \nu$, and $B\to K^{(\ast )}\nu \bar{\nu }$ decays. The $B\to K^{(\ast )}\nu \bar{\nu }$ decay provides one of the cleanest experimental probes of the flavour-changing neutral current process $b\to s\nu \bar{\nu }$, which is sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model. However, the missing energies of the neutrinos in the final state makes the measurement challenging and requires full reconstruction of the spectator $B$ meson in $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to \mathrm{{\rm Y}}(4S)\to B\bar{B}$ events. This report discusses the expected sensitivities of Belle II for these rare decays.

The High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) will replace the existing CMS endcap calorimeters during the High Luminosity run of the LHC (HL-LHC) era. The electromagnetic part, as well as the first layers of the hadronic part, foresees around 600 square metres of silicon sensors as the active material. The remainder of the HGCAL, in the lower radiation environment, will use plastic scintillators with on-tile silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) readout. Prototype hexagonal silicon modules, featuring a new ASIC (Skiroc2-CMS), together with a modified version of the scintillator-SiPM CALICE AHCAL, have been tested in beams at CERN. This setup represents a full slice through HGCAL. Results from MIP calibration, energy resolution, electromagnetic and hadronic shower-shapes are presented using electrons, pions and muons.

The electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) of the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment (CMS) is operating at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy and at a bunch spacing of 25 ns. Upgrades are necessary for the High-Luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC). We review the design and R&D studies for the CMS ECAL crystal calorimeter upgrade. We present test beam results of hadron irradiated PbWO₄ crystals up to fluences expected at the HL-LHC. We also report on the R&D for the new readout and trigger electronics, which must be upgraded due to the increased trigger and latency requirements at the HL-LHC.

The High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will integrate 10 times more luminosity than the LHC, posing significant challenges for radiation tolerance and event pileup on detectors, especially for forward calorimetry, and hallmarks the issue for future colliders. As part of its HL-LHC upgrade program, the CMS Collaboration is designing a High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) to replace the existing endcap calorimeters. It features unprecedented transverse and longitudinal segmentation for both electromagnetic (CE-E) and hadronic (CE-H) compartments. This will facilitate particle-flow (PF) calorimetry, where the fine structure of showers can be measured and used to enhance pileup rejection and particle identification, whilst still achieving good energy resolution. The CE-E and a large fraction of CE-H will be based on hexagonal silicon sensors of $0.5-1{\mathrm{\text{cm}}}^2$ cell size, with the remainder of the CE-H based on highly-segmented scintillators with SiPM readout. The intrinsic high-precision timing capabilities of the silicon sensors will add an extra dimension to event reconstruction, especially in terms of pileup rejection. An overview of the HGCAL project is presented in this paper.

The LUCID-2 detector is the main online and offline luminosity monitor of the ATLAS experiment. It provides 104 different luminosity measurements from different algorithms for each of the thousands of LHC bunches. The new detector is using the quartz windows of 10 mm diameter photomultipliers and optical quartz fibers as the Cherenkov medium. A main challenge for a luminometer is to keep the efficiency constant during years of data-taking. LUCID-2 is using an innovative calibration system based on radioactive Bi-207 sources deposited on the quartz window of the readout photomultipliers.

The Cylindrical GEM-Inner Tracker (CGEM-IT) is the upgrade of the internal tracking system of the BESIII experiment. It consists of three layers of cylindrically-shaped triple GEMs, with important innovations with respect to the existing GEM detectors, in order to achieve the best performance with the lowest material budget. It will be the first cylindrical GEM running with analog readout inside a 1T magnetic field. The simultaneous measurement of both the deposited charge and the signal time will permit to use a combination of two algorithms to evaluate the spatial position of the charged tracks inside the CGEM-IT: the charge centroid and the micro time projection chamber modes. They are complementary and can cope with the asymmetry of the electron avalanche when running in magnetic field and with non-orthogonal incident tracks. To evaluate the behaviour under different working settings, both planar chambers and the first cylindrical prototype have been tested during various test beams at CERN with 150 GeV/$c$ muons and pions. This paper reports the results obtained with the two reconstruction methods and a comparison between the planar and cylindrical chambers.

In this paper the new endcap Time-of-Flight system (ETOF) of BESIII experiment at the IHEP is described. The new detector module is composed of multi-gap resistive plate chamber (MRPC) with the gas mixture 90% Freon+5% S$F_6$+5% iso-$C_4{H}_{10}$. The whole system including the detectors, the gas system, the high voltage (HV) system, the readout electronics system is described. Finally the installation and commissioning of the whole system is introduced briefly. After the calibration with Bhabha events, the very promising time resolutions of 69 and 60 ps for one-end and two-ends of MRPCs are obtained. The average detection efficiency of two-ends is about 97.5%.

The STAR experiment at RHIC is upgrading the inner sectors of the Time Projection Chamber (iTPC) to increase the segmentation on the inner padplane from 13 to 40 rows and to replace the inner sector multiwire proportional chamber (MWPC). The upgrade will provide better momentum resolution, better dE/dx resolution, and most importantly it will provide improved acceptance at high rapidity to $\left|\eta \right|\le$1.5 compared to the current TPC coverage of $\left|\eta \right|\le$1.0. The enhanced TPC capabilities based on this upgrade are critical to the physics program of the Beam Energy Scan Phase II at RHIC during 2019-2020, in particular the QCD phase transition study. In this proceedings, the iTPC MWPC module fabrication and prototype testing results are discussed.

In the proposed Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) experiments, particle identification (PID) of the final state hadrons in the semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering allows the measurement of flavor-dependent gluon and quark distributions inside nucleons and nuclei. The EIC PID consortium (eRD14 Collaboration) has been formed for identifying and developing PID detectors using Ring Imaging Cherenkov (RICH) techniques for the EIC experiments. A modular Ring Imaging Cherenkov (mRICH) detector has been designed for particle identification in the momentum coverage from 3 GeV/c to 10 GeV/c. The mRICH detector consists of an aerogel radiator block, a Fresnel lens, a mirror-wall and a photosensor plane. The first prototype of this detector was successfully tested at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in April 2016 for verifying the detector working principles. This talk will highlight the mRICH beam test results and their comparison with GEANT4-based detector simulations. An implementation of the mRICH detector concept in the Forward Angle sPHENIX spectrometer at BNL will also be mentioned in this talk.

Lepton-hadron colliders that use a proton or nucleus beam of current and future hadron colliders and let it collide with an electron beam from a newly built electron accelerator bring attractive physics programs which are strong and complementary to the hadron collider physics. Machine development for Energy Recovery LINAC and physics performance studies of such electron-hadron colliders, specifically the LHeC that uses the existing LHC beam and FCC-eh that is an option of Future Circular Collider program, are ongoing and reviewed in this article.

The Belle II experiment is now under construction at the KEK laboratory in Japan. This project represents a substantial upgrade to both the Belle detector and the KEKB accelerator. The Belle II experiment will record 50/ab of data, a factor of 50 more than that recorded by Belle. This large data set, combined with the low backgrounds and high trigger efficiencies characteristic of an $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ experiment, should provide unprecedented sensitivity to new physics signatures in $B$ and $D$ meson decays, and in $\tau$ lepton decays. The experiment is scheduled to begin physics running in 2018.

We study the $D$-wave heavy baryons using the method of QCD sum rules in the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Our results suggest that the ${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c(2860)$, ${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_c(2880)$, ${\mathrm{\Xi }}_c(3055)$ and ${\mathrm{\Xi }}_c(3080)$ complete two $D$-wave $SU(3)$ flavor ${\bar{3}}_F$ charmed baryon doublets of $J^P=3/2^{+}$ and $5/2^{+}$.
