In this paper, we propose novel content-based image retrieval (CBIR) algorithms using Local Octa Patterns (LOtP), Local Hexadeca Patterns (LHdP) and Direction Encoded Local Binary Pattern (DELBP). LOtP and LHdP encode the relationship between center pixel and its neighbors based on the pixels’ direction obtained by considering the horizontal, vertical and diagonal pixels for derivative calculations. In DELBP, direction of a referenced pixel is determined by considering every neighboring pixel for derivative calculations which results in 256 directions. For this resultant direction encoded image, we have obtained LBP which is considered as feature vector. The proposed method’s performance is compared to that of Local Tetra Patterns (LTrP) using benchmark image databases viz., Corel 1000 (DB1) and Brodatz textures (DB2). Performance analysis shows that LOtP improves the average precision from 59.31% to 64.36% on DB1, and from 83.24% to 85.95% on DB2, LHdP improves it to 65.82% on DB1 and to 87.49% on DB2 and DELBP improves it to 60.35% on DB1 and to 86.12% on DB2 as compared to that of LTrP. Also, DELBP reduces the feature vector length by 66.62% as compared to that of LTrP. To reduce the retrieval time, the proposed algorithms are implemented on a Hadoop cluster consisting of 116 nodes and tested using Corel 10K (DB3), Mirflickr 100,000 (DB4) and ImageNet 511,380 (DB5) databases.

To solve the problem of balance control in dynamic movement of two-wheeled self-balancing pendulum robot, a dynamic balance control method based on adaptive machine learning is proposed based on theoretical analysis of the cause of balance. Firstly, a kinematics model of two-wheeled self-balancing pendulum robot is established. Through numerical calculation and analysis, the root cause for dynamic balance of two-wheeled self-balancing pendulum robot is obtained. On this base, adaptive machine learnings are proposed to control the dynamic balance of two-wheeled self-balancing pendulum robot. The possible lateral movement of robot caused by dynamic balance control is analyzed. Finally, balance simulation test is conducted, which shows that the robot can easily lose balance and overturn without adaptive machine learning. The comparison of simulation test has verified that the proposed dynamic balance control method can effectively control the dynamic balance of two-wheeled self-balancing pendulum robot.

With the development of natural language processing and neural machine translation, the neural machine translation method of end-to-end (E2E) neural network model has gradually become the focus of research because of its high translation accuracy and strong semantics of translation. However, there are still problems such as limited vocabulary and low translation loyalty, etc. In this paper, the discriminant method and the Conditional Random Field (CRF) model were used to segment and label the stem and affixes of Mongolian in the preprocessing stage of Mongolian-Chinese bilingual corpus. Aiming at the low translation loyalty problem, a decoding model combining Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) was constructed. The target language decoding was performed by using the GRU. A global attention model was used to obtain the bilingual word alignment information in the process of bilingual word alignment processing. Finally, the quality of the translation was evaluated by Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) values and Perplexity (PPL) values. The improved model yields a BLEU value of 25.13 and a PPL value of $-38.1$. The experimental results show that the E2E Mongolian-Chinese neural machine translation model was improved in terms of translation quality and semantic confusion compared with traditional statistical methods and machine translation models based on Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN).

In reality, however, they will have to be estimated or sometimes predicted. There are some popular methods that are used for the estimation of the channel which is made by means of using the pilot symbols and also the Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs). Both these methods will not avail the time-learning channels even during the transmission of some meaningful data. In this work, a light weight neural network is proposed for the channel selection. The proposed Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is duly optimized with the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and the Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO)-based algorithms for enhancing the predictions. The method is popular and is robust adaptive as a beamforming technique and optimized weights will be used for training the ANN effectively. The results when compared prove the advantages of the techniques proposed.

The success of information system process depends on accuracy of software estimation. Estimation is done at initial phase of software development. It requires a collection of all relevant required information for estimating the software effort. In this paper, a methodology is proposed to maintain a knowledgeable use case repository to store the use cases of various projects in several software project-related domains. This acts as a reference model to compare similar use cases of similar types of projects. The use case points are calculated and using this, schedule estimation and effort estimation of a project are calculated using the formulas of software engineering. These values are compared with the estimated effort and scheduled effort of a new project under development. Apart from these, the effective machine learning technique called neural network is used to measure how accurately the information is processed by use of case repository framework. The proposed machine learning-based use case repository system helps to estimate and analyze the effort using the machine learning algorithms.

Hyperspectral image resolution offers limited spectral bands within a continual spectral spectrum, creating one of the spectra of most pixels inside the sequence which contains huge volume of data. Data transmission and storage is a challenging task. Compression of hyperspectral images are inevitable. This work proposes a Hyperspectral Image (HSI) compression using Hybrid Transform. First the HSI is decomposed into 1D and it is clustered and tiled. Each cluster is applied with Integer Karhunen–Loeve Transform (IKLT) and as such it is applied for whole image to get IKLT bands in spectral dimension. Then IKLT bands are applied with Integer Wavelet Transform (IDWT) to decorrelate the spatial data in spatial dimension. The combination of IKLT and IDWT is known as Hybrid transform. Second, the decorrelated wavelet coefficients are applied to Spatial-oriention Tree Wavelet (STW), Wavelet Difference Reduction (WDR) and Adaptively Scanned Wavelet Difference Reduction (ASWDR). The experimental result shows STW algorithm using Hybrid Transform gives better PSNR (db) and bits per pixel per band (bpppb) for hyperspectral images. The comparison between STW, WDR and ASWDR with Hybrid Transform for Indian Pines, Salinas, Botswana, Botswana and KSC images is experimented.

The flip-flops are considered as major contributors to the power dissipation of the clocking system, which is made up of the clock provision network and storage elements (latches, flip-flops). The power- and delay-efficient new implicit-pulsed dual-edge triggering flip-flop circuit (IP-DETFF) is proposed with two latching stages by employing an implicit-pulse triggering, dual-edge clocking and reducing the number of clocked loads. This leads to the reduction of power consumption due to clock allocation tree (pclk-tree) and reduces the delay time. The dual-edge clocking technique is incorporated into this proposed design without an increment of the number of transistors and minimizes the operating frequency as half. This methodology is also employed in this proposed design to construct new latching part of the flip-flop circuit. The performance of proposed flip-flop is analyzed by simulating the circuit at 0.12$\mu$m CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) process technology. The simulation results show that the proposed design achieves power saving from 11.22% to 54.81%, improvement of speed from 67% to 71.50%, power-delay product (PDP) from 74.85% to 81.26 %, energy-delay product (EDP) from 87.86% to 92.4% and power-energy product (PEP) from 75.24% to 93.57% compared to the conventional flip-flops.

By learning a deep nonlinear network structure, the generalization ability of complex classification problems is improved. In order to achieve higher processing efficiency and accuracy, this topic will study the latest achievements of machine learning method — deep learning — to realize target category detection. In the background extraction step, an improved meaning-based background extraction algorithm and an interest region extraction algorithm to reduce image pixels are proposed. The test results show that the proposed algorithm has good performance of video target detection

This paper presents a Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC), a viable waveform candidate for fifth generation (5G) communications using Staggered-Modulated Multitone (SMT). FBMC is preferred in optical communication because of its ability to work without Cyclic Prefix (CP). In any case, the operation of FBMC in optical access systems with Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) has not been broadly explored either downstream or upstream. This work presents an advanced Nonlinear Feed-Forward Equalizer (NFFE) that makes use of multilayer ANN for dispersion compensation. ANN is trained to act as a filter with an extensive equalizer training which has the ability to mitigate dispersion and increase the performance of the system. The simulation work is used to study the performance of intensity modulated FBMC system with direct detection in Long Reach-Passive Optical Networks (LR-PONs).The transmission data rate is varied between 8 and 10Gbps with the optical fiber length from 30 to 90km of Standard Single Mode Fiber (SSMF). The obtained result suggests that FBMC system with ANN-NFFE equalizer fundamentally builds the resilience to the Chromatic Dispersion (CD) distortion, and a CP-less transmission is possible upto 90km.

In recent decades, gait recognition has garnered a lot of attention from the researchers in the IT era. Gait recognition signifies verifying or identifying the individuals by their walking style. Gait supports in surveillance system by identifying people when they are at a distance from the camera and can be used in numerous computer vision and surveillance applications. This paper proposes a stupendous Color-mapped Contour Gait Image (CCGI) for varying factors of Cross-View Gait Recognition (CVGR). The first contour in each gait image sequence is extracted using a Combination of Receptive Fields (CORF) contour tracing algorithm which extracts the contour image using Difference of Gaussians (DoG) and hysteresis thresholding. Moreover, hysteresis thresholding detects the weak edges from the total pixel information and provides more well-balanced smooth features compared to an absolute one. Second CCGI encodes the spatial and temporal information via color mapping to attain the regularized contour images with fewer outliers. Based on the front view of a human walking pattern, the appearance of cross-view variations would reduce drastically with respect to a change of view angles. This proposed work evaluates the performance analysis of CVGR using Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) framework. CCGI is considered a gait feature for comparing and evaluating the robustness of our proposed model. Experiments conducted on CASIA-B database show the comparisons of previous methods with the proposed method and achieved 94.65% accuracy with a better recognition rate.

${}^{29}$Si Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) can measure the molecular structure of silicate in oilfield reinjection water. However, noise in ${}^{29}$Si NMR spectra (NMRS) affects the determination of silicate molecular structure type. To solve this problem, a new peak fitting method (Two-step Greedy-Singular Spectrum Analysis-Gaussian Fitting Method, TSG-SSA-GFM) is proposed in this paper. This method first uses TSG to determine the embedding dimension, then uses SSA to determine the characteristic peak position. Finally, GFM is used to calculate the molar ratio of characteristic peaks. The results show that TSG can quickly determine the embedding dimension and reduce computation by at least 50% vs. the global ergodic method. The mean deviation of characteristic peak positions determined by SSA is 0.07 ppm, while Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) cannot determine characteristic peaks of ${}^{29}$Si NMRS containing overlapping peak. The average $R$-squared of Gaussian fitting of ${}^{29}$Si NMRS is 98.4% while Lorentzian is 90.6%. Therefore, this study provides an important method for quantitative analysis of ${}^{29}$Si NMRS.

Challenges and issues in the field of cloud service negotiation framework optimization have been an active area of research. During service level agreement, the probability of negotiation conflict between the service consumers and providers is high. This may arise due to aggressive behavior, selfish misperception, vague preferences and uncertain goals of the negotiating participants. One of the key challenges identified in negotiation framework is optimizing the negotiation conflict among the negotiators. In order to minimize such conflicts, existing frameworks group the negotiation pairs that contain similar and non-aggressive behavioral patterns by exploiting the distance, binary, context dependent and fuzzy similarity approaches. These approaches get better success rate only if the dimensionality of negotiator attributes is low. As emerging real-time cloud service negotiation applications are characterized by negotiation attributes of high dimensionality, the existing approaches are inappropriate for these applications. In addition, the existing approaches group the negotiation pairs using distances based measure in two-dimensional negotiation attribute, whose value will vary for high-dimensional attributes. In this work, an Angle-based Similarity Grouping (ASG) approach is proposed that appropriately groups the highly cooperative negotiation pairs and thereby increases the success rate and decreases communication overhead.

In order to reduce the positioning error of wireless sensor network nodes and deal with the positioning of a large number of sensor network nodes, a mass sensor node positioning method based on particle swarm optimization (SNPSO) is proposed. The node location error of node distance correction value is corrected by SNPSO algorithm, and the sensing data is encoded by the index of cloud computing resources. The dynamic target strategy (DTS) algorithm is used to solve the strict deadline constraints. The algorithm focuses on optimizing execution time to meet deadline constraints, and once feasible solutions are obtained, it focuses on optimizing execution costs within deadline constraints. The performance of the algorithm is simulated and analyzed on the platform of MATLAB 2016. Compared with the sensor positioning method, SNPSO improves the positioning accuracy of mass sensor nodes. The simulation results verify the validity of SNPSO. Compared with the improved quantum genetic algorithm (IQGA) under different scale data scheduling and different deadlines constraints, the proposed algorithm can improve the positioning accuracy of mass sensor nodes. The proposed algorithm can find the optimal solution of cloud computing resource scheduling with lower execution cost under strict deadline constraints, and can more easily meet the needs of massive sensor network node location data processing.

Active Electrodes (AEs) are electrodes which have integrated bio-amplifier circuitry and are known to be less susceptible to motion artifacts and environmental interference. In this work, a low-power and high-input impedance amplifier for active electrode application is implemented based on subthreshold biasing strategies. In this proposed Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) device was versatile and numerical to achieve a high degree of programmability. It could be adapted to any other external part of one cochlear prosthesis, the sound analyzer that could be driven by a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This research work also discusses the measurement of the electrode-skin impedance mismatch between two electrodes while concurrently measuring a bioelectrical signal without degradation of the performance of the amplifier, the efficient, noise-optimized analysis of bioelectrical signals utilizing two-wired active buffer electrodes. The reduction of power-line interference when using amplifying electrodes employing autonomous adaption of the gain of the subsequent differential amplification. The amplifier’s features include offset compensation, Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) improvement in software and a bandwidth extending down to DC. The proposed active electrode amplifier is designed using 90 nm CMOS technology. The Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system can be decreased effectively through Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) scheme. A combination of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) with the PTS scheme in the OFDM system has been proposed in this work which is a PAPR reduction technique with lesser computational complexity. By performing a set of simulations with different PTS schemes, the performance of the PSO–PTS, BFO–PTS and GA–PTS scheme is comparatively investigated in terms of PAPR and computational cost reductions.

As the traditional spectral community detection method uses adjacency matrix for clustering which might cause the problem of accuracy reduction, we proposed a signal-diffusion-based spectral clustering for community detection. This method solves the problem that unfixed total signal as using the signal transmission mechanism, provides optimization of algorithm time complexity, improves the performance of spectral clustering with construction of Laplacian based on signal diffusion. Experiments prove that the method reaches as better performance on real-world network and Lancichinetti–Fortunato–Radicchi (LFR) benchmark.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is the interconnection between things or objects embedded with hardware and software. In WSN, small end devices (like sensors) and high end devices (like servers) are connected to the Internet. For WSN enabled in Software-Defined Network (SDN), the routers are controlled using a controller server node. It is a dynamic network due to the presence of mobile nodes and energy constrained nodes. The routing is the process of detecting route from source to target. In dynamic networks like WSN, routing is a challengeable task. This paper is to provide a routing solution for backboneless SDN-enabled WSN. The proposed work enhances routing Quality of Service (QoS) in WSN. The paths are dynamically reallocated to reduce the packet loss.

The Fog computing is rising as a dominant and modern computing model to deliver Internet of Things (IoT) computations, which is an addition to the cloud computing standard to get it probable to perform the IoT requests in the network of edge. In those above independent and dispersed environment, resource allocation is vital. Therefore, scheduling will be a test to enhance potency and allot resources properly to the tasks. This paper offers a distinct task scheduling algorithm in the fog computing environment that tries to depreciate the makespan and maximize resource utilization. This algorithm catalogues the task based on the mean Suffrage value. The suggested algorithm gives much resource utilization and diminishes makespan. Our offered algorithm is compared with different alive scheduling for performance investigation, and test results confirm that our algorithm has a more significant resource utilization rate and low makespan than other familiar algorithms.
