We review the study of the charged Higgs and top quark associated production at the LHC with the presence of an additional scalar doublet. Top quark spin effects are related to the Higgs fermion couplings through this process. The angular distributions with respect to top quark spin turns out to be distinctive observables to study the Htb interaction in different models.

We calculate the D-brane superpotentials for two Calabi–Yau manifolds with three deformations by the generalized hypergeometric GKZ systems, which give rise to the flux superpotentials 𝒲_GVW of the dual F-theory compactification on the relevant Calabi–Yau fourfolds in the weak decoupling limit. We also compute the Ooguri–Vafa invariants from A-model expansion with mirror symmetry, which are related to the open Gromov–Witten invariants.

In a Hamiltonian approach to anomalies, parity and time-reversal symmetries can be restored by introducing suitable impure (or mixed) states. However, the expectation values of observables such as the Hamiltonian diverges in such impure states. Here, we show that such divergent expectation values can be treated within a renormalization group (RG) framework, leading to a set of β-functions in the moduli space of the operators representing the observables. This leads to well-defined expectation values of the Hamiltonian in a phase where the impure state restores the P and T symmetry. We also show that this RG procedure leads to a mass gap in the spectrum. Such a framework may be relevant for long wavelength descriptions of condensed matter systems such as the quantum spin Hall (QSH) effect.

In this paper, we study the self-force in the Parikh–Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation for Reissner–Nordström (RN) black holes. We conclude that the repulsive self-force speeds up the emission and the radiation becomes an irreversible process. We also find an upper bound of charge–mass ratio for emitted particles.

This paper is devoted to analyze the dynamics of plane symmetric gravitational collapse as well as energy density inhomogeneity in f(G) gravity. The field equations are constructed for dissipative isotropic source and Darmois junction conditions are used to discuss the process of collapse. We use Misner–Sharp mechanism to develop dynamical equation and couple it with transport equation to explore the impact of gravitational force on the collapsing rate. For constant f(G) model, we conclude that the rate of collapse slows down. Finally, we discuss the relationship between the Weyl tensor and physical quantities.

In this paper, we investigate the role of causal heat transport in a spatially homogeneous, locally-rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type-V cosmological model. In particular, the causal temperature profile of the cosmological fluid is obtained within the framework of extended irreversible thermodynamics. We demonstrate that relaxational effects can alter the temperature profile when the cosmological fluid is out of hydrostatic equilibrium.
