We review studies of inelastic meson-meson scattering. In nonperturbative schemes with chiral-perturbation-theory Lagrangians and in models based on effective meson Lagrangians, inelastic meson-meson scattering leads to the successful identification of resonances in meson-meson reactions, adequate inclusion of final state interactions in particle decays, and so on. For mesons of which each consists of a quark and an antiquark, inelastic meson-meson scattering may be caused by quark-antiquark annihilation, quark-antiquark creation, quark interchange, and quark-antiquark annihilation and creation. In transition amplitudes for meson-meson scattering mesonic quark-antiquark relative-motion wave functions depend on hadronic matter, and transition potentials are given in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. Via transition amplitudes the cross sections for inelastic meson-meson scattering depend on the temperature of hadronic matter. Some prominent temperature dependence of the cross sections has been found. Inelastic meson-meson scattering becomes even more significant in proton-proton collisions and lead-lead collisions at the Large Hadron Collider.

We reconsider a generation of up-type quark mass hierarchy in the standard model and clarify how a mechanism works to realize the hierarchy without severe fine tuning.

In this note an analytic integration is obtained for the differential equation governing the scalar-field-dependent mass in a hairy binary black hole model, in the context of the Einstein–Maxwell–dilation theory, which gives a closed-form formula-level description of the mass function. We also identify a particular solution which attracts all solutions of the mass-governing equation exponentially rapidly in large-dilaton-field limit.

We propose to describe the gauge sector of an asymptotically safe field theory in $d=4-𝜖$ dimensions as a scalar theory on fixed AdS in $(d+1)$-dimensions using the holographic dictionary.

In this paper we study equations of state of Casimir vacuum of massive scalar field and massive bispinor field in compact Friedmann universe. With use of the Abel–Plana formula the renormalization of divergent series for calculation of the quantum means of operators is implemented.

Six exact solutions are obtained in the general scalar-tensor theory of gravity related to spatially homogeneous wave-like models of the Universe. Wave-like spacetime models allow the existence of privileged coordinate systems where the eikonal equation and the Hamilton–Jacobi equation of test particles can be integrated by the method of complete separation of variables with the separation of isotropic (wave) variables on which the space metric depends (non-ignored variables). An explicit form of the scalar field and two functions of the scalar field that are part of the general scalar-tensor theory of gravity are found. The explicit form of the eikonal function and the action function for test particles in the considered models is given. The obtained solutions are of type III according to the Bianchi classification and type N according to the Petrov classification. Wave-like spatially homogeneous spacetime models can describe primordial gravitational waves of the Universe.

Bearing holographic dark energy hypothesis in mind, the ability of vacuum energy in describing the current accelerated universe is studied in the framework of Rastall theory. Here, in addition to the ordinary approach in which it is expected that this energy plays the role of dark energy, we also address a new approach where the sum of this energy and Rastall term is responsible for the current accelerated universe. We also investigate the cosmological outcomes of using Tsallis entropy in quantifying the energy of fields in vacuum for both mentioned approaches. The implications of considering an interaction between the various segments of cosmic fluid have been addressed in each studied cases. The normalized Hubble parameter for the models have also been plotted and compared that with the $H(z)$ data consisting of 41 data points in the redshift range of $0.07\le z\le 2.36$.

Generalized uncertainty principle puts forward the existence of the shortest distances and/or maximum momentum at the Planck scale for consideration. In this article, we investigate the solutions of a two-dimensional Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau (DKP) oscillator within an external magnetic field in a minimal length (ML) scale. First, we obtain the eigensolutions in ordinary quantum mechanics. Then, we examine the DKP oscillator in the presence of an ML for the spin-zero and spin-one sectors. We determine an energy eigenvalue equation in both cases with the corresponding eigenfunctions in the non-relativistic limit. We show that in the ordinary quantum mechanic limit, where the ML correction vanishes, the energy eigenvalue equations become identical with the habitual quantum mechanical ones. Finally, we employ the Euler–Mclaurin summation formula and obtain the thermodynamic functions of the DKP oscillator in the high-temperature scale.

In this contribution, we reformulated the bidirectional teleportation protocol suggested in Ref. 7, by means of Bloch vectors as well as the local operations are represented by using Pauli operators. Analytical and numerical calculations for the teleported state and Fisher information are introduced. It is shown that both quantities depend on the initial state settings of the teleported qubits and their triggers. The Fidelities and the Fisher information of the bidirectionally teleported states are maximized when the qubit and its trigger are polarized in the same direction. The minimum values are predicted if both initial qubits have different polarization or nonzero phase. The maximum values of the Fidelity and the quantum Fisher information are the same, but they are predicted at different polarization angles. We display that the multi-parameter form is much better than the single parameter form, where it satisfies the bounds of classical, entangled systems and the uncertainty principle.
