Connected autonomous vehicles (CAV) are currently under development, and the mixed flow with CAV would make the traffic states more complicated. Due to the lack of mature applications, the future traffic with CAV are still full of uncertainties. Under the new situation, the traditional cellular automata (CA) model is in need of upgrade. To discover the characteristics of traffic flow under different CAV penetration rates, and considering the particularity of the ramp segments on freeway, this paper updates the current CA model and analyzes the car-following and lane-changing behavior of mixed traffic flow under the intelligent network. Results show that, as the CAV penetration rate continues to increase, the road operation performance continues to improve, and the capacity of the road segment increases accordingly.

Collisions between droplets and fibers are a common phenomenon in nature and daily life, such as raindrops on the surface of spider webs and the surface of transmission cables. We present a numerical model to study the droplets impacting on fibers with the many-body dissipative particle dynamics (MDPD) method. The droplets impact on neutral fiber at different velocities and diameters is simulated. The diffusion trend of droplets is affected by the velocities and diameters. According to the morphologies of droplets, the results of impacting could be divided into three types, stick to the fiber, merge and split into parts. The spreading factors and internal velocity distributions are obtained and analyzed. And the determination of regimes at these states is found. In addition, the droplets impact on hydrophobic fiber is also investigated.

In this work, we study the effects of geometric confinement on the point statistics in a quasi-low-dimensional system. Specifically, we focus on the nearest-neighbor statistics. Accordingly, we have performed comprehensive numerical simulations of binomial point process on quasi-one-dimensional rectangle strips for different values of the confinement ratio defined as the ratio of the strip width to the mean nearest-neighbor distance. We found that the nearest-neighbor distance distributions (NNDDs) conform to an extreme value Weibull distribution with the shape parameter depending on the confinement ratio, while the process intensity remains constant. This finding reveals the reduction of effective spatial degrees of freedom in a quasi-low-dimensional system under the geometric confinement. The scale dependence of the number of effective spatial degrees of freedom is found to obey the crossover ansatz. We stress that the functional form of the crossover ansatz is determined by the nature of the studied point process. Accordingly, different physical processes in the quasi-low-dimensional system obey different crossover ansatzes. The relevance of these results for quasi-low-dimensional systems is briefly highlighted.

A large-scale renormalization group study of the Ising model for the square, honeycomb, triangular, simple cubic, and body-centered (BC) cubic lattices has been performed recently by us. We complement those studies with the structurally more complicated face-centered cubic lattice Ising model. The results obtained from the real space renormalization group (RSRG) treatment of the face-centered simple cubic (FCSC) Ising lattice have been presented in this work. The difficulty due to its non-self-dual decimation transformation property and high numbers of nearest neighbors in the treatment is overcome with some relevant approximations. The approximation is based on keeping only the pairwise interactions in the decimated lattice which is apparently in the form of a tetragonal structure. Within this approximation, the renormalized coupling strength is related to the coupling constant of the original lattice. The critical coupling strength for the decimated tetragonal structure is calculated as 0.0905.

In this paper, we provide a coarse-graining method to obtain the primitive chain from a polymer chain configuration in the entangled polymer melt by knocking out its high-frequency Rouse modes. Adopting this coarse-graining procedure, we theoretically demonstrate that the tube step length is twice the tube diameter. Moreover, a simple method to visualize the tube by adding high-frequency modes to the primitive chain is also provided.
