This study is devoted to exploring the method of optimizing engineering cost construction system by using computer cloud computing algorithm. By synthesizing relevant studies at home and abroad, it is found that the current engineering cost construction system generally suffers from slow data processing speed, high computational complexity and insufficient accuracy. In terms of system design, specific technologies, methods and algorithms are adopted. First, a stable cloud computing platform was established to ensure the reliability and stability of the system. Then, techniques such as data mining and machine learning are used to process and analyze a large amount of engineering data to achieve accurate prediction of engineering costs. At the same time, a series of algorithms are designed to optimize the computational efficiency and accuracy of the system. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed system are verified through experimental design and analysis. The research results show that the engineering cost construction system based on cloud computing algorithms can significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of the system, which has high application value and provides a new solution for the engineering construction industry.

With the advent of the era of big data, the teaching practice model of music major has also changed. The emergence and growth of social media allow users to act freely. Therefore, on the basis of social tagging, this paper makes full use of the personalized description information and project content information carried by tags in collaborative tagging. A personalized music recommendation algorithm based on social networks is proposed. In social networks, complex interactive relationships are formed between users and music content, as well as between users themselves. By analyzing users’ historical behavior data (such as receiving and listening to playlists, liking, and sharing), we can calculate the similarity between users. For example, if two users frequently listen to the same song or artist, then their similarity is higher. Restart type random walk is an algorithm that iteratively searches on a graph, adding a “restart” mechanism to the traditional random walk. Specifically, during each walk, the algorithm has a certain probability (usually a preset small value, such as 0.15) to return to the starting node, rather than continuing to randomly select the next adjacent node. This mechanism helps the algorithm to explore new nodes while maintaining attention to the starting node, thereby avoiding getting stuck in local optima. A personalized mobile music recommendation algorithm based on the music genome is proposed based on the similarity of the node structure of two graphs and the random walk of restart type. Based on the similarity of interests between different users, a personalized mobile music recommendation algorithm is proposed to realize the personalized service of mobile terminals.

The mathematical formalisms and computer enumerations of two polymeric models: trails and silhouettes are presented. Trails have been quite extensively studied, but their equivalence class, silhouettes are less familiar. By drawing parallelism from n→0 magnetic analog, the tricritical properties of silhouettes are studied both analytically and numerically. The tricriticality of trails, which is inaccessible by a renormalization group analysis in ε=4−D dimensions, can therefore only be investigated numerically. The tricritical exponents thus obtained indicate that trails belong to a distinct universality class from silhouettes.

WWW, its interfaces and tools, can represent a big opportunity to solve some historical problems of the astronomers. After a description of the state of the Italian Astronomy and Astrophysics environment, with special emphasis to the network usage and to the development of two challenging new technology telescopes, some of the more important (for us) topics are discussed. Several of the major points described in this paper have been outlined and exposed by several authors during a recent Workshop devoted to the first experiments with WWW in the Italian Astronomical Observatories. The application to a very promising field, the astronomical archives, and its fall-out on the organization of the work in observational astronomy is finally discussed.

The article is about the refractive surgery for the correction of myopia. It discusses about LASIK and how it is effective in the correction of myopia.

In this paper, the optical properties of skin lesion are determined with the help of laser reflectometry. The result is compared with the phantom and simulation values to obtain an accurate result. Surface backscattering is determined by laser reflectometry. The tissue-equivalent phantom is prepared with the help of white paraffin wax mixed with various color pigments in multiple proportions. A familiar Monte Carlo simulation is used to analyze the optical properties of the tissue. The normalized backscattered intensity (NBI) signals from the tissue surface, measured by the output probes after digitization, are used to reconstruct the reflectance images of tissues in various layers below the skin surface. From NBI profiles measured at various locations of the tissues on the forearm, the corresponding optical parameters, the scattering (μ_s) and absorption (μ_a) coefficients, and the anisotropy parameter g are determined by matching these with profiles simulated by the Monte Carlo procedure. The correlation analysis between the lesion thickness and the diffuse reflectance gives the optical wavelengths which are selected for multispectral images of skin lesions. Comparison of results shows the presence of abnormal level in the tissue.

Background: Acquiring competence in microsurgical suturing is a basic requirement for any trainee aspiring to perform clinical microsurgery. New methods and simulation platform continue to evolve, but the assessment of the quality of microsurgical suturing is largely subjective. We present the concept of computer aided assessment of standardised microsurgical task, using a novel training platform. The platform comprises of a simulator (hardware) that provides the trainee standardised microsurgical tasks, which are then evaluated using a customised software.

Methods: A cohort of trainees attending a five day microsurgery training course was selected. The trainees performed three standardised exercises on the platform, on the first third and the fifth day of the course. All the exercises were subjected to computer aided assessment.

Results: Trainees demonstrated a learning curve over the five day period through the evaluation system, with initial increase in performance followed by a plateau. Eighty four percent of the trainees were able to achieve acceptable scores. Sixteen percent of the trainees were unable to perform a suturing of acceptable quality at the end of the training (fifth day).

Conclusions: The mean scores correlated with the level of difficulty of the exercise. We conclude that computer aided assessment can provide an objective view of the quality of suturing as well as skill maintenance in for trainees.

Background

Non-specific neck and shoulder pain is a prevalent condition among working adults. The surge in remote work and online activities following the COVID-19 pandemic has raised concerns about the potential increase in such pain due to prolonged usage of electronic devices. However, recent literature has introduced the possibility that desk-bound computer work may not necessarily correlate with neck and shoulder pain. This study aims to explore the relationship between the severity of neck and shoulder pain and the duration of electric device usage, alongside other lifestyle factors.

Methods

An online survey was distributed through email and advertisements to individuals aged 21 and above in Singapore. The survey collected data on participant demographics, the extent of neck and shoulder pain experienced, the duration of computer and smartphone usage, as well as lifestyle factors like sleep duration and exercise frequency. The Institutional Review Board approval number of this study is 2023014.

Results

A total of 268 valid responses were collected, comprising 182 participants experiencing neck and shoulder pain (I group) and 86 participants without such pain (C group). Both groups exhibited similar demographics. Notably, a significant difference was identified in the exercise frequency per week (I = 2.17 days; C = 2.95 days, p < 0.01), while the difference in sitting duration approached statistical significance (I = 7.13 hrs; C = 6.38 hrs, p = 0.085).

No statistically significant differences were observed in the duration of smartphone usage (I = 5.19 hrs; C: 4.62 hrs, p = 0.18), computer use (I = 6.24 hrs; C = 5.94 hrs, p = 0.51), and average daily exercise time (I = 1.87 hrs; C = 1.85 hrs, p = 0.99).

Within the group experiencing neck and shoulder pain, a significant correlation emerged between pain levels and age (r = 0.19, p = 0.01). Conversely, no significant correlations were detected between pain levels and computer or smartphone usage duration, prolonged sitting, sleep duration, exercise frequency or duration.

Conclusion

In this ongoing study, preliminary findings indicate that the existence of neck and shoulder pain does not exhibit a significant association with the duration of sitting work, smartphone or computer use. Interestingly, the exercise frequency might have a potential relationship with neck and shoulder pain. Notably, our data demonstrates a weak yet statistically significant correlation between the severity of neck and shoulder pain and the age of participants but not other lifestyle factors.

Some interesting examples are given in this article to show how one can learn and investigate mathematics through experiments with the help of computers. Each example begins with a problem. Trying to solve the problem one experiences exploration, invention and application of mathematics in the process.

Physically, information carriers are encountered in two occurrences, either in native form as physical structures, or in arbitrarily coded, symbolic form such as signal systems or sequences of signs. The symbolic form may rigorously be associated with the existence of life. In contrast, structural information may be present in various physical processes or structures independent of life. The self-organised emergence of symbolic information from structural information may be called ritualisation. A century ago, Julian Huxley had introduced this term in behavioural biology. Subsequently, this evolutionary key process of the emergence of animal and social communication was studied in depth by Konrad Lorenz, Günter Tembrock and other ethologists. Ritualisation exhibits typical features of kinetic phase transitions of the 2^nd kind. From a more general viewpoint, the origin of life, the appearance of human languages and the emergence of human social categories such as money can also be understood as ritualisation transitions. Occurring at some stage of evolutionary history, these transitions have in common that after the crossover, arbitrary symbols are issued and recognised by information-processing devices, by transmitters and receivers in the sense of Shannon’s information theory. In this paper, general properties of the ritualisation transition and the related code symmetry are described. These properties are demonstrated by tutorial examples of very different such transitions in natural, social and technical evolution, reviewed from the perspective of the emergence of symbolic information and its structural historicity.
