To ensure safety production of coal resources and effective protection of aquifer, it is necessary to research the influence of coal mining on aquifer. Based on field investigation and collection of geology, hydrogeology etc. of coal mining area in Shanxi Province, the influence of coal mining on aquifer was analyzed from three aspects such as aquifer structure, groundwater resources and groundwater quality. It showed that (1) coal mining caused severe damages to aquifer structure; (2) coal mining caused continuous decrease of groundwater resources in aquifer; (3) coal mining caused serious pollution of groundwater quality. Combing with coal mining status, geological and hydrogeological conditions of coal mining area in Shanxi, this paper put forward prevention technologies for aquifer damage control under the condition of coal mining. The results provide important reference values for sustainable exploitation of coal resources and aquifer protection of coal mining area in Shanxi Province.
In this paper, the CFD software was used to simulate the flow pattern of gas in goaf. We studied the features of movement and distribution of gas in U-shaped ventilation system. The goaf was considered as porous media. Multi-step modelling and transient analysis were adopted in numerical process to simulate the laws of workface process and distribution of gas in goaf. The results show that the return airway and the deep area of goaf are gas accumulated places. Goaf deep part far away from the coalface is the focus to the research work of goaf gas control. Using ground drilling to drainage gas is an effective way to reduce the gas concentration. The numerical results are helpful to the reasonable arrangement of drilling.
