Information Retrieval is the most predominant topic in the field of Information Systems as the generation of data over various systems and channels is growing every day. The proposed system which works on the offline basis is designed for the purpose of organizing data in a defined manner and for the purpose of increasing relevancy in the retrieval of the required information from this largely generated data. In the proposed system two novel algorithms, Dynamic Path Selection Clustering (DPSC) algorithm for clustering and the Rearward Binary Window Match (RBWM) algorithm for search process are introduced to overcome the difficulty in data organization and search. The evaluation of the entire system is done and the results are compared along with the results of the existing techniques.
This chapter studies the use of a proposed integrated competency development approach to address the challenges which a bank’s risk management function faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. It studies the challenges and regulatory reforms after the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. It argues that these reforms were not sufficient to address the challenges in the longer term. It revisits the key features of the proposed integrated approach to risk management competency development. Next, it studies and identifies four major challenges together with the corresponding risk management competency development requirements. It finds that these requirements can be inferred from the proposed integrated approach. It proposes that this integrated approach is, and will likely remain, relevant to helping banks build resilience as they confront future pandemics and challenges.
The field of multimedia software engineering is still in an inmature state. Significant research and development has been dedicated towards multimedia services and systems technology such as networking or database systems. Multimedia document formats have been standardized. But when it comes to multimedia application development, the development process is truncated to an implement-and-test method. Either specialized multimedia authoring systems or multimedia frameworks or libraries complementing programming languages or system software are directly used for implementation. No preceding modeling phases for requirements specification, analysis, or design of the system to build are enforced. The development of sophisticated multimedia process models and established, usable graphical notations tailored to the specification of multimedia systems is still underway.
In order to fill this gap, it is the purpose of this chapter to show current achievements in object-oriented modeling of multimedia applications. Based on an analysis of the state of the art in multimedia application development, we shortly present approaches to object-oriented hypermedia modeling and extensions of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for hypermedia and interactive systems. The main part of the chapter is dedicated towards a recent approach to the Object-oriented Modeling of MultiMedia Applications (OMMMA).
Artificial Immune System (AIS) has been used successfully in information security, especially intrusion detection system (IDS). In this paper, an integrated security system based on AIS (ISS-AIS) is been constructed. The goal of ISS-AIS is acquiring efficient and high security of a LAN. The architecture of ISS-AIS is described. Security server, AIS switch, AIS agent and antibody library are proposed as main components of ISS-AIS. The ISS-AIS is a project being developed.
The engineering survey is by one or more technical means to find out the planned area topography and geomorphology, strata distribution features, genetic types and engineering geological properties, provide the various physical and mechanical properties of soil, to analyze and evaluate the site engineering geological conditions, the stability and evaluate the suitability of the site. Based on a high-rise building foundation investigation as an example, the integrated use of soil, water, laboratory test (conventional physical properties test and indoor seepage test, mechanical test and the water quality analysis), static cone penetration test, standard penetration test, DMT test, vane shear test, water injection test, the confined water level observation, wave velocity test foundation survey and technical methods and means, such as the proposed site for a detailed comprehensive survey, to obtain the distribution of soil, foundation bearing capacity and site effect, and other important parameters.
