Narrow Results

Formation spectra of model systems excited by reaction are investigated in order to get a theoretical basis for proper interpretation of experimental data concerning kaonic nuclear quasi-bound states. It is argued that experimentally observable kaonic nuclear peak should be regarded as the decaying state introduced by Kapur-Peierls.

We study theoretically the in-flight (K⁻, N) reactions for the formation of systems using the microscopic chiral unitary s-wave amplitude to get deeper physical insights on the expected spectra, and to investigate the experimental feasibility of the reaction at J-PARC facility. We show the missing mass spectra of the (K⁻, N) reactions accompanied by the particle emissions due to absorption in nucleus.

The three-body resonance of system is investigated by using the coupled channels Faddeev equation. The resonance energy is determined from the pole of S-matrix on the unphysical sheet. It is found that the pole positions of the predicted amplitudes are significantly modified when the three-body dynamics is approximately treated by introducing the effective two-body interaction.

This study investigates the production of charged particles and the kaonic nuclei $K^{-}pp$ and $K^{+}\bar{p}\bar{p}$ in $\mathrm{\text{Au}}+\mathrm{\text{Au}}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=130$ GeV. The parton and hadron cascade model PACIAE 2.1 is used to calculate the yield of charged particles, and the Dynamically Constrained Phase–space Coalescence (DCPC) model is used to calculate the yield of kaonic nuclei. Results showed that the yield of charged particles was consistent with experimental data from the STAR detector at Brookhaven National Laboratory (United States). The data also revealed that the simulated yield of $K^{-}pp$ was greater than the yield of $K^{+}\bar{p}\bar{p}$. The kaonic nuclei $K^{-}pp$ and $K^{+}\bar{p}\bar{p}$ are probably formed by $K^{+}$(or $K^{-}$) directly trapping two protons (or antiprotons).

The J-PARC E15 experiment aims to search for the lightest kaonic nuclear states, namely K^-pp, using in-flight (K^-, n) reaction on ³He. In this experiment, the missing mass in the (K^-, n) reaction and the invariant mass of the decay such as K^-pp → Λp → pπ^-p will be measured simultaneously. In this article, the experimental feature and the present status are presented.

We report on recent relativistic mean-field calculations of multi- nuclei^1,2 which were performed fully and self-consistently across the periodic table. The separation energy as well as the nuclear and -meson densities were found to saturate with the number of antikaons in the nuclear medium. Saturation appears robust against a wide range of variations, including the nuclear model used and the type of boson fields mediating the strong interactions. In addition, we have explored properties of kaonic hypernuclei — strange systems made of nucleons, hyperons and K^- mesons. We observed saturation also in these objects. Since the separation energy does not exceed 200 MeV, multi- nuclei lie energetically well above multi-hyperonic nuclei and it is unlikely that kaon condensation could occur in strong-interaction self-bound hadronic matter.

We study the consequence of chiral SU(3) symmetry in the kaon-nucleon phenomenology, by deriving the effective single-channel potential. It turns out that the πΣ interaction is strongly attractive and plays an important role for the structure of the Λ(1405) resonance. We discuss the implication of effective potential for the few-body kaonic nuclei.

We investigate whether the mass and momentum spectra of emitted particles in $K^{-}+{}^6\mathrm{\text{Li}}$ reaction can be used for disentangling the nature of $\mathrm{\Lambda }$(1405) and how the signature of the $\mathrm{\Lambda }$(1405) resonance appears in the cross-sections of the kaon-lithium reaction on the physical real energy. We used different types of $\bar{K}N-\pi \mathrm{\Sigma }$ potentials to study the dependence of the results to the fundamental kaon-nucleon interaction. The momentum spectra are calculated for final pions and neutrons. The possibility of the observation of the $\mathrm{\Lambda }$(1405) resonance in the mass spectra is studied. It was demonstrated that the $\pi \mathrm{\Sigma }$ mass and neutron momentum spectra are more suitable than the pion momentum spectra to see the trace of the $\mathrm{\Lambda }$(1405) resonance and it is a useful tool for investigating the subthreshold behavior of the $\bar{K}N$ interaction.

In the framework of the Skyrme Hartree-Fock model, we study the effect of hyperons and kaons on nuclear structure. Namely, the structure of hypernuclei is investigated by including into SHF a hyperon-nucleon interaction from microscopic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock calculations of asymmetric nuclear matter. Similarly, we determine the properties of kaonic nuclei in the SHF approach by using the kaon-nucleon interaction from a standard chiral model.
