Hot stamping processes of high strength steel require that speed and pressure of forming equipment can be adjusted flexibly and accurately. Mechanical link servo press adopts servo direct technology to adjust the slider movement and output pressure flexibly and provides faster cycle times at lower costs. Therefore it is a kind of ideal equipment for complex hot stamping processes. This paper presents a method of performance evaluation for mechanical link servo press. A series of repeatable testing methods are used to detect and evaluate the key performances of mechanical link servo press, such as BDC precision, pressure holding capacity, production efficiency and power consumption. In this paper, the performance evaluation method is used to detect and evaluate the mechanical link servo press on hot stamping line. The experimental results show that a well-performed mechanical link servo press must have high performances like high BDC precision, high pressure holding capacity, high production efficiency and low power consumption.
