Call for Special Issues

A Guideline for Special Issues
Researchers with interest in humanoid robotics are invited to serve as Guest Editors of special issues of IJHR focusing on themes specifically addressing aspects of humanoid robotics such as mind (intelligence), body (motion) and applications.

Kindly complete this special issue proposal form and submit it to the Editor-in-Chief for approval.

The proposal should contain the following paragraphs:

  1. Description of the Contents of the Special Issue;
  2. Relationship between the topic proposed and humanoid robotics;
  3. For each of the proposed guest editors, a paragraph and a list of up to five publications directly related to the proposed subject
  4. List of potential contributors to Special Issue (the list will be treated confidentially).

IJHR policy is that Special Issues must be open to unsolicited submissions (i.e. not restricted to invited participants or to papers submitted to a conference) therefore a Special Issue cannot be associated uniquely with a conference or workshop and should carry a title identifying the Special Issue.

However, high quality papers from a conference or workshop can be specially invited. Papers submitted must have not been published or being considered for publication in any journal. Substantial revisions of conference papers are eligible and the authors should inform the Guest Editors at the time of submission. All papers will be reviewed by the Guest Editors in accordance with IJHR policy. The final decision will be subject to approval of the Editors in Chief of IJHR.

In line with this policy, the Guest Editors must submit a call-for-papers for the special issue, which will be advertised in IJHR’s website.

Submit papers at /worldscinet/ijhr with a note "for Special Issue on XXX." Follow information for authors at IJHR.

It is important for a special issue to keep a tight schedule. The follow time schedule is an example:

Important dates:
Paper submission deadline: September 1, 2006.
Notification of the first review: November 1, 2006.
Revisions due: December 1, 2006.
Final notice of acceptance: February 1, 2007.
Final version manuscripts due: March 1, 2007.
Special issue to appear: June 2007.
