Aims & Scope

Journal of Emergency Management and Disaster Communications (JEMDC) is a journal for researchers, policymakers and practitioners across diverse disciplines. The journal addresses issues of emergency medicine, public health, health policy, disaster communication, emergency management, and medical rescue and other aspects of research, commentary. JEMDC covers the following six columns: Strategies, policies and management; News, information and communication; New media contexts; Public emotions and behavior; Effects and practical implications; History, culture and beyond.

The aim is to improve international, national, and regional capacities for emergency risk analysis, management, and governance. JEMDC promotes a comprehensive and dynamic perspective, providing readers with up-to-date information regarding the evolving disaster communications and emergency management fields. Recognizing the inherent links between these two fields, the journal aims to serve as a bridge between them, encouraging exploration of their underlying relationships, interactions, and synergies.

The publication costs for JEMDC are covered by the editorial office so authors do not need to pay an article-processing charge. The following types of articles are accepted: research article, review article, case report, short communication article.
