This book series will deal with broad spectrum of issues related to the management of tourism, culture, development, and sustainability. It will primarily focus on how cultural tourism as a product may affect host communities, their quality of life, values and norms, as well as their standard of living. Cultural tourism is regarded not only as tourist product but as an agent of change. As such, the aim of the book series will be to discuss these changes and to facilitate a more sustainable development of this product for the benefit of tourism, tourists, and host communities. Thus “sustainability” as an ideology and practice will always be the pivot for all books in the series. The geographical scope of this book series will be global and it will serve students (of development studies, tourism planning and development, and tourism and hospitality management), practitioners and decision makers in the field of tourism and local, regional, national and global development.
