Indexed in Scopus The goal of this book series is to publish selected handbooks, graduate texts and stand-alone review monographs with specific themes, focusing on modern topics and new developments in experimental and theoretical physical chemistry and chemical physics. In review chapters, the authors are encouraged to provide a section on future developments and needs. The thematic coherence and depth of each volume in this series are what distinguish it from the several other book series already existing in physical chemistry. As such, this series should be especially useful to instructors of graduate-level courses and to graduate students.

About the Editors

R Bruce Weisman is a Professor of Chemistry and of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University, where he is also a member of the Smalley-Curl Institute and the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering. Dr. Weisman received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Chicago. He did postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the Rice faculty in 1979. Dr. Weisman has held fellowships from the National Science Foundation, the Hertz Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Prof. Weisman's current research focuses on basic and applied studies of carbon nanotube spectroscopy. He has served The Electrochemical Society as Chair of the Nanocarbons Division and a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Weisman is also the founder and president of Applied NanoFluorescence, LLC. He is a former Co-Editor of the journal Applied Physics A and is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society, The Electrochemical Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Karl M Kadish is Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen University Professor of Chemistry at the Universityof Houston. He has published more than 640 research papers and edited or co-edited more than 100 books, the majority of which are on topics related to research in the area of porphyrins, phthalocyanines and related molecules. In 2012, Dr. Kadish was awarded the Hans Fischer Lifetime Achievement Award in Porphyrin Chemistry. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines and has served as President of the Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines since 2000.
