Dr Sam Goundar is an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies (IJFC) — Inderscience Publishers, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Fog Computing (IJFC) — IGI Publishers, Section Editor of the Journal of Education and Information Technologies (EAIT) — Springer and Editor-in-Chief (Emeritus) of the International Journal of Cloud Applications and Computing (IJCAC) — IGI Publishers. He is also on the Editorial Review Board of more than 20 journals with high impact factor.
As a researcher, apart from Blockchains, Cryptocurrencies, Fog Computing, Mobile Cloud Computing and Cloud Computing, Dr Sam Goundar also researches on Educational Technology, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Artificial Intelligence, ICT in Climate Change, ICT Devices in the Classroom, Using Mobile Devices in Education, e-Government, and Disaster Management. He has published on all these topics. He was a Research Fellow with the United Nations University.
As an academic, Dr Sam Goundar has been teaching Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS) and Computer Science (CS) over the last 25 years at several universities in a number of countries at all levels. He is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the University of the South Pacific, Adjunct Lecturer in Information Systems at Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and an Affiliate Professor of Information Technology at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Peru).
Dr Sam Goundar is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of ACS, a member of the IITP, New Zealand, Certification Administrator of ETA-I, USA and Past President of the South Pacific Computer Society. He also serves on the IEEE Technical Committee for Internet of Things, Cloud Communication and Networking, Big Data, Green ICT, Cyber Security, Business Informatics and Systems, Learning Technology and Smart Cities. He is a member of the IEEE Technical Society and a panelist with the IEEE Spectrum for Emerging Technologies.
