Editorial Note

I am honoured and delighted to serve World Scientific as the Editor-in-Chief of “International Journal of Data Science in the Mathematical Sciences” (IJDSMS).I would first like to thank the WS team and my editorial board for the launch of this new, exciting and uniquely interdisciplinary journal. As we enter the Age of Data, our lives and fields of expertise are increasingly interconnected. The gap between human disciplines and indeed the gap between human and machine are diminishing. Inspired by the rapid progress in Artificial Intelligence by computer scientists, data scientists and engineers, applied mathematicians have help to develop this newfound potential into every aspect of our lives from medicine to astronomy. You name it, we will find deep learning and datamining deployed within it. However, to make sense out of these seemingly ground-breaking developments, the pure mathematicians and theoretical physicists have only begun to be involved in recent years.
